That is just one reason NOT to believe in God.
Look at Job...
Job was a righteous man, according to the bible. Then God decides to allow Satan to ruin his life over a silly bet. Probably for push-ups, or a dollar.
Job then watches his entire family die off right before his eyes.
Satan makes another bet, which God accepts. Job loses all of his wealth.
Satan makes another bet, which God accepts. Job loses all of the respect of his community and loses his friends, who blame him for all of his bad luck.
Satan makes another bet, which God accepts. Job becomes deathly ill, but doesn't die, and suffers on and on.
Later, when God wins the bet because Job never curses him, God reams his a$$ for cursing the day he (Job) was ever born, and brags about all of the things he (God) can do.
If I made a bet with my worst enemy, and allowed him to ruin my kids life like that, over a bet that my kid wouldn't lose faith, what kind of a father would I be?
A HORRIBLE father. That's what. No christian would allow me the excuse that I can do what ever I want with a life that I created, but they allow God that luxury, even though Job never asked to be here. Like my child, Job was brought here, and whomever or whatever brought him here has a responsibility to protect him and watch out for him.
A christian would run me into the ground for doing to my child what their God did to Job, but somehow, they think that it was OK for God to allow permanent pain for Job.
(Ever known anyone that has lost a child?)
Yes, according to the bible, Job got back three times as many children, wives, and wealth as he had before.
Ask someone who has lost a child or a beloved wife to horrible disease if having three times as many children or spouses would alliviate their pain.
No. God is a cad, if the bible is correct, just like I would be if I allowed such a horror to occur to my child over a silly, prideful bet.

The Bible explains that God created many, many spirit persons similar to himself. In the Bible these spirits are called angels. Also they arte called "sons of God" (Job38:7 ; Psalm104:4 ; Hebrews1:7,13,14) God created them all perfect. Not one of them was a devil, or a satan. The word "devil" means slanderer and the word "satan" means opposer.
The time came, however, when one of these spirit sons of God made himself the devil, that is a hateful liar who speaks bad things about another. He also made himself satan, that is, an opposer of God. He was not created that way, but later became that kind of person. To illustrate: A thief is not born a thief. He may have come from a good family, having honest parents and law- abiding brothers and sisters. But his own desire for what money can buy is what may have caused him to become a thief. How then did one of God's spirit sons make himself Satan the Devil?
The angel that became the Devil was present when God created the earth and later the first human couple, Adam and Eve.(Job38:4,7) So he would have heard God tell them to have children(Genesis1:27,28) He knew that after a while the whole earth would be filled with righteous people worshiping God. That was God's purpose. However, this angel thought a great deal of his own beauty and intelligence and wanted to receive for himself the worship that would be given to God.(Ezekiel28:13-15 ; Matthew4:10) Instead of putting this wrong desire out of his mind, he kept thinking about it. This led to his taking action to obtain the honor and importance he desired. Everything God created was good but he created all of us, and all the angels with free will, not as robots who can only do what they are programed to do.

Yes, Satan was an angel.
Because God created FREWILL inside angels and humans and did not create robots, Satan made a choice.
God did not create evil, he created all things GOOD (Genesis book).
But He is planning to solve all those problems that Satan created. He gave him time to proove that humans can be ruled by themself...or by Himself (satan)...But the outcome of this, is very bad and we can look around us.
God soon will solve all the problems and restore everything.
Read the Revelation book in the Bible.

No it is not in the Bible. And you are correct to say both religion and atheism doesn't answer this. And if we are fair to each other we'd probably admit it's unfair to expect this. One atheist freind does not accept my argument that the universe didn't create itself for this exact same reason. He calls it just pushing it up another level. If the universe didn't create itself, did God? And if so, how is that possible then? Well I have no answer for him. But I still believe that a God, or some thing by a different name, and of unknown origin, created the universe. That is because it seemingly has design and purpose to me. This doesn't just seem like an accident. And I actually see value in adding another "outside" dimension to my "understanding" of the universe. But I know nothing of this dimension, other than that it is outside our own. What is going on there cannot be seen or understood by me in my present condition.

Means God still respect his creature's choice.
Like a boss who has an employee. Employee may has a good promotion to be someone important in the company. But he is still not the owner. These angels (Satan) want to replace God's place as the owner. God punished them.
Now.. as a bad person who is ready to be punished, he don't want to stay alone in the jail so.. they try to persuade many person to go with them.
Anyway... we just know a little in this universe and GOD know everything (so we don't or cannot understand all what God thinks).

Not every question has an answer.Particularly when you want answers about God and the Devil. We don't know why God does things His way, that's why He is God.There are a lot of scientific questions that have never been answered, like the Big Bang Theory which most people are happy with although there is no proof yet.

Jesus gave us the correct answer to your question in The Apocryphon of John, not the bible. If God created an angel that would turn bad and God foreknows everything that will happen as the christians claim. then God would be responsible for evil and could not judge anybody. Do you really believe that? Be smart, believe Jesus, not Moses.

When God decides to do something, He goes for it no matter what. When He created satan, He knew satan would fall. That doesnt mean He created satan to fall but rather that He KNEW satan would fall. And God knew He could still use satan for His perfect plan and divine purposes despite his turn to evil. And that is exactly what GOd does. He turns evil into good, good into righteousness and righteousness into eternal life.
Isa 55:9 For [as] the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

OK here the deal god ain't stupid he created him for us listen god knows the future he knew that Adam and eve were gonna be created and because of his love for them he had to find away for them to have free will and to see if the love for him was real so he appointed Lucifer the most beautiful angel
in heaven to a real high ranking and i personally be live he gave him the characteristic of humanity not as a curse but a gift and it was by Satan's choice he went evil but god being the loving god he is does not push no one to worship him so the stage was set Adam eve god the snake and the apple and all for mans free will it was Satan's choice to be bad just like humanity its a gift and your free will to do as you like god bless you

Satan was one of the necessary elements of the plan to create man with free will.
God wanted his creation to have the ability to choose for itself, but there had to be choices to choose between: Enter Satan. Now God puts Satan's mischief to use, by making Satan the instrument of free will.
So God did not necessarily create Satan with a good intention, but with the intention of using him for his own means. Satan did, however, make the choice to reject God himself.

The thing is, god had to have known exactly how Satan would turn out, so he in fact wanted satan to be evil.
The story of lucifer was likely inspired by the myth of prometheus, amoung others.
