And before you start, I have dug through every trace of "evidence" that the creationists have ever come up with. I've researched their sites, gone to their discussion groups, etc. I've done everything possible to look at their view with an open mind, getting all the facts before deciding that its the biggest load of crap I've ever heard of.

wasn't going to answer this one..but wanted to compliment icarus for going the extra mile and writing a lot for me to look at and study.

Good job. (have always said a Christian can get stronger if he listens to the valid objections that are put together well).

but did notice one part...Icarus says the question about transistional fossils and not being able to find any is a lie. Please explain the evidence for making this statement.

Isn't this the reason Gould developed the "Punctuated Equilibrium Model", since even he couldn't find any that stood up to even his own scrutiny?

Also, did notice you never addressed the pre-cambriac explosion of life forms.

I have no problem looking at the argument of "each generation slowly changes and is different from the previous."

It's when I start working backwards that I hit the wall of "irreducbible complexity" and am not able to see complex multi cell organisms being able to move back any farther. Pushing it back to single cell is not possible.

And if the beginning of the model is impossible, the rest of the model is impossible.

Oh..and as far as Creationist misquoting from Darwin's book...isn't it a misquote on the part of evolutionists not to use the full title of Darwin's book?
thank you

Yes. Anyone can say they have an open mind .Actually opening it is another story. This is what i can't understand...The Big Bang which scientists use as the sudden appearance of the Universe has not been proved. It is still a theory so they are happy to call it a theory while they still search for answers as to how it came to be.Now they say that a Creator could not have created the Universe because there is no "proof"
No proof for the Big Bang
No proof for a Creator

Rather keep the big bang until it can be proven. Dismiss Creator through lack of evidence.

This i find very strange--double standards.

EDIT. .Even Einstein wanted to get "inside the mind of God'.

What i find hard to believe is that even allowing for the possibility, however remote, for the existence of a Creator is rejected by so called intelligent people, is to me a foolish asumption by narrow minded ignorant people.And yet they believe in many other unproven theories,.as long as it has nothing to do with Creation. Can you prove the Titanic sunk?

that's loopy. historical cultures did no longer have a proper concept of God because of the fact spaghetti had no longer yet been invented. His Noodliness grow to be first conceived in primitive form in China, circa 500 BCE, and carried to Italy via Marco Polo. that's barely after the invention of the hot international and the cultivation of the tomato that the concept of the FSM must be completely integrated: a million) spaghetti 2) meatballs and 3) tomato sauce. This grow to be extraordinarily plenty the comparable time because of the fact the form of the legend of Santa Claus, and so as that they are the comparable age. QED

I'm afraid so. However, let's see how the idea stands up to rational analysis. Let's look at the whole thing - the arguments, the evidence, everything - and strip away what's invalid until we get to the heart of the matter:

Lies
----

Let's take away all the outright lies such as "Darwin recanted on his deathbed" and "there are no transitional fossils" and "no-one has ever seen speciation occur".

Deceptions
----------

Let's take away all the dishonest selective quoting from The Origin of Species, the implication that controversy over the details of evolution means controversy over the fact that it occurs, equivocation over the word 'theory', and so on.

Logical Fallacies
-----------------

Let's dispose of all the logical fallacies employed routinely by creationists, such as:

o Argument from Ignorance ("I can't see how feature X could have evolved, therefore it couldn't have evolved");

o Strawman ("evolutionists say that living organisms popped out of nowhere by pure random chance");

o Argument from Adverse Consequences ("if everyone knew that we were just the products of evolution they would have no reason to be morally good");

o Non sequitur ("if evolution was true we would see rocks with wings" or "if evolution was true we would see dogs giving birth to cats");

o Invalid premise ("the Bible is true, the Bible says living organisms were created, therefore evolution is false");

... and many others.

The Evidence
------------

OK, so having stripped away all the lies, deceptions and fallacies used to argue for creationism, we come to the evidence:

Well, actually, there isn't any. There is not one single valid argument, nor one scrap of objective evidence for creationism. This is why creationism is not science, but simply an unsupported religious belief.

I was seven when I first heard of the 'god' concept - I was amazed that adults would believe in invisible beings in the sky like Santa.
During the intervening 54 years my amazement has increased as my knowledge has increased.
I find it amazing that in the 21st century gullible people still believe in imaginary sky beings.
All I can say is that the priests do an excellent sell job and that threat of hell in a supposed after-life still works like magic.
Any torturer knows that if you threaten someone’s loved ones with enough pain and misery for long enough they'll do anything you ask - even believe in invisible sky chappies AND pay for the privilege.

Laughter is the best medicine.
Thank you for contributing to my health.

Still the same old battle - faith versus reason

I'll tell you a secret: Reason will burn eternally in hell.

One day, a light will come on and you will remember these words. I hope it is THIS SIDE of heaven!

Yes, they still believe in that nonsense. But then they've not been taught anything else.
