Yeah, I do. I've been trying to break my husband of using those phrases. I tell him that he can say ANY other words he wants, but don't use the Lord's name in vain! At least, not around me!

I have no control over things outside my own house...but I do think it's completely disrespectful. I mean, people don't walk around saying, "Mother of the Flying Spaghetti Monster!" or "Buddha-****" or "Krishna-****" and they don't say "Allah!" either. Why is that? They only use God's name in vain, or Jesus Christ.

And for the record, it WOULD bother me if people took other gods' names in vain. It's just disrespectful.

Jesus is separate, yet equivalent to God. Jesus is the son of God, so he's area of God. Jesus isn't completely God, in simple terms like a toddler isn't a precise replica of their make certain. Jesus is worth of compliment because of the fact he's technically area of God, yet they nonetheless proceed to be separate on the account that Jesus is the son of God the daddy. additionally, whoever mentioned this is conceivable to have confidence in Jesus yet no longer God does not comprehend what they're speaking approximately. Jesus mentioned it himself, in case you settle for him, you're additionally accepting the daddy.

The word "God" isn't the name of any god. Saying "God Dammit" doesn't curse anything. Saying "Jesus Christ" doesn't curse anyone as the Hebrew name is something like Yeshua, which means Joshua. I'm afraid you are not on point here. But this does show the state of mind of most confused Xtians. Using language like you mentioned is great for letting off steam and frustration. Let it go......

I try not to curse. Only when I am extremely angry does GD come out of my mouth, which is seldom.

God is not God's name, so *technically* it's not taking his name in vain. (But I know it is still a sin because you are doing it in your heart, etc.)

I never say JC for a curse word. The very idea makes me kind of scared.

No, I don't. It makes me cringe inside when I hear others do it.

The men that created god and Christ should have picked names that didn't sound like swear words.
