7 million Muslims live in America
1.5 billion Muslims live on the earth.
If Islam taught that....... then you would be hiding under your bed right now.
Educated people should not be so ignorant.

Nor take life - which Allah has made sacred - except for just cause
Quran, Al Israa, Chapter 17 Verse 33
take not life, which Allah hath made sacred, except by way of justice and law: thus doth He command you, that ye may learn wisdom
Quran, Al-Anaam Chapter 6 Verse 151
So what is taking a life in just cause? There are only a number of circumstances that taking a life is permissible
1) Capital Punishment (for murder, rape etc)
2) In order to rid oppression and persecution through war
Fight in the way of Allah against those who fight against you, but begin not hostilities. Lo! Allah loves not, aggressors
Quran, Al Baqara, Chapter 2 Verse 190
And fight them on until there is no more persecution or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in Allah; but if they cease, Let there be no hostility except to those who practise oppression.
Quran, Al-Baqara, Chapter 2 Verse 193
This permission from Allah to fight oppression and persecution can be referred to as Jihad, a struggle to free oneself from oppression. This is Islam’s most known and misunderstood concept.
Many refer to Jihad, incorrectly, as “Holy War”. Jihad stems from the word “Jahada” which means exhausting, so a man is said to have “Jihad al-nafs” when he has exhausted his utmost effort. So Jihad is translated as struggle, it refers primarily to a person’s inner struggle to become righteous and to submit of his or her life to Allah.
Dr. Zakir Naik clarifies the Islamic position of force being used in Islam.
Each and every human being in this world is not in favour of maintaining peace and harmony. There are many, who would disrupt it for their own vested interests. Sometimes force has to be used to maintain peace. It is precisely for this reason that we have the police who use force against the criminal and anti-social elements to maintain peace in the country. Islam promotes peace. At the same time, Islam exhorts it followers to fight where there is oppression. The fight against oppression may, at times, require the use of force. In Islam force can only be used to promote peace and justice.

Peace should be the Primary objective of Muslims as the following verse proves.
But if the enemy incline towards peace, you also incline towards peace, and trust in Allah: He is the All- Hearer, All-Knower.
Quran, Al- Anfaal, Chapter 8 Verse 61
However despite this people are still conned by critics of Islam because they are able to quote the Quran out of context, in order to prove the point of terrorism. There is a particular quote that critics like to quote out of context to “prove” that Islam promotes terrorism and killing of those who do not convert to Islam.
So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the pagans wherever you find them, and take them captive and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-due, leave their way free to them; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful
Quran Tawba Chapter 9 Verse 5
*Abu Hamza tried to used this same verse to suggest that he was just preaching from the Quran and not inciting racial hatred.
As you read this verse you probably have already made some judgments, saying “How can anybody justify this?” However this verse is being quoted out of context. If you read the verse before this it sheds more light on what is going on.
(But the treaties are) not dissolved with those Pagans with whom you have entered into alliance and who have not subsequently failed you in aught, nor aided any one against you. So fulfil your engagements with them to the end of their term: for Allah loves the righteous.
Quran Tawba Chapter 9 Verse 4
As you can now without a doubt see there were covenants and treaties in place which had been broken by some of the pagan tribes of Arabia. You can plainly see war was not waged on tribes which had abided and kept true to their word and Allah clearly reminds us of that.
It is obviously not talking about killing Christians and Jews (People of the Book) or anybody else for that matter. However some may still be thinking, “Does that justify war?” However the following verse explains
Will you not fight a folk who broke their solemn pledges, and purposed to drive out the messenger and did attack you first?
Quran Tawba Chapter 9 Verse 13
