Errm. Not a great deal actually.
Unless you're a gullible Christian type, then you are lifted on an angel's wings and flown to the man in the sky.
And then the elves tickle your toes and the fairies bring you sticky buns, and . . .

Is There LIFE After Death?
"IF AN able-bodied man dies can he live again?" asked the patriarch Job some 3,500 years ago. (Job 14:14) This question has perplexed mankind for millenniums. Throughout the ages, people in every society have pondered this subject and have come up with various theories.
Many nominal Christians believe in heaven and hell. Hindus, on the other hand, believe in reincarnation. Commenting on the Muslim view, Emir Muawiyah, an assistant at an Islamic religious center, says: "We believe there will be a day of judgment after death, when you go before God, Allah, which will be just like walking into court." According to Islamic belief, Allah will then assess each person's life course and consign him either to paradise or to hellfire.

According to the King James Bible you go to Hell. Yeah, pretty much everybuddy...only the hell of the Bible isn't the Hell that people think of today...thanks to Dante Aligheri's Inferno and all the artists that rendered it back in the dark ages. The Catholic Church sorta ran with that theme in both the greek (Hades - pagan underworld place of torment) and Roman (Hel - Norse god of another pagan version of yet another underworld). However, according to the original Hebrew term...the word replaced with Hell was actually Sheol which described death/the grave. Many of the modern neo-evangelical and protestant churches kept that doctrine of eternal torture in "hell" based on the Catholic teaching and a few verses in the Bible that have constantly been misused...the parable of Lazarus and the Rich Man and as well Saul and the Witch at Endor. If examined closely one would see that they support the grave/death/annihilation of the wicked at judgement Biblical scenario rather than the immediate dispensation to hell or heaven as the church teaches now. So here is what happens when you die...if you belong to God and have recieved Christ as your Salvation then you are good to go..rest in peace, my friend, you will have no being and no thought until the Final Day. If however, you have not chosen Christ and prefer to take your chances otherwise then when you die, rest in peace anyway...it is when you are raised again that you will have wished you had made the better decision...not because you will burn for eternity and be tortured by demons and etc. Simply, if your name is not written in the Lamb's Book of Life then you will be destroyed along with every other lost soul or wicked and detestable thing including the earth. All things will be made new including you, a new Heaven and a New Earth with no more death and no more suffering...only peace, joy and beauty...if you belong to Christ. I have mass scripture to support this if you are a Bible believer...just email me and I'll be glad to send it. Love in Christ, ~J~

The simplest explanation (and therefore the most likely) is that you simply cease to exist. Your brain stops functioning therefore you stop comprehending/being.
Not a pleasant idea but it is what appears to be the case when you examine the issue without emotion.
I don't think "Oblivion" is an appropriate word to describe it since there is no "self" experiencing the nothingness. It is more like a dreamless sleep with no experience at all.

The lights go out.
Is this a trick question?
Is there a prize?
I can't be bothered spinning you any more BS - I'm sure you've been subjected to Xian propaganda.
You'll either accept the cold hard facts of reality or live in dreams.
Dreams are warmer.

It's over. Finished. 'You' exist no more, but the rest of the world goes on as usual.
Some people believes in afterlife, it makes them feel better eventhough there's NO evidence of afterlife.
Don't waste your time thinking about this, what happens when you are alive is far more important.

i don't know. i think you just die and that is it - you're not there any more, like before you were born. maybe all spirits are connected and you are reincarnated, maybe you just wander around as a ghost. nobody knows really. i don't think there is a heaven or a hell though.

Rigor mortise sets in
Your body starts to bloat because bacteria starting to decompose your body emits gasses.
As the flesh starts to decompose, it gets rather jelly-like and gooey.
Eventually you rot away leaving bones and viscera.
