I just converted to LDS and got baptised at the end of July. My boyfriend and I were fooling around and got too close to sex. He put it in a couple of times but I stopped it. Then at church he told me I couldn't take sacrament. I was so upset. Then he said that we may as well have sex. So I did. I wouldn't have considered the previous as sex before I got baptised. So I thought I was fine. Now I feel like I was somewhat tricked into having sex with him. I know I still did it tho after. I just thought I may as well since he told me it was too late til I repented with the President. I know that it won't happen again until we get married. If I know it won't happen again, can I take the sacrament or do I need to talk to the President still? I really don't like the idea of sharing my personal information with someone I don't know. I don't have a problem. Sex won't happen again.

Do you realize that if that WERE to ever happen, we would lose a lot of fundamental freedoms and the same negative things that adversely affect other theocrasies in other countries would affect us here? Namely:

1. Sectarian violence- there are many different Christian sects, which one exactly will have the FINAL rule of law? The Roman Catholics, Conservative Evangelists, Liberal Evangelists, Lutherans, Southern Baptists, etc?

2. America will cease to exist as it was meant to, "Land of the Free Home The Brave" with Liberty and Justice for all. Large sectors of the population will be excluded from the selected Christian religious laws.

Also, don't you think it is ironic that people who live in religious theocracsies are fleeing to live in Europe and North America where there is secular democracy, social freedoms and protection of minorities?

Doesn't that tell you something?

Recently, my (former) christian friend invited me to his father's funeral.
As he was talking to me about his father's death, he cried uncontrollably.
So I said to him, if you are a real christian you will stop that stupid crying and move on.
I mean like, come on, christians believe you go to heaven after you die.
Well, after I related this to my friend he went beserk telling me I'm going to burn in hell.
Christians, don't you realize everytime you get angry at atheists for no good reason, you make yourself look like an idiot.
It is not logical for any person to cry when someone dies.
Thank gesus I'm an atheist.
Look at me, I'm an atheist, and I know more how you should act than you know how to read your buybill!

alright so i believe in god. i know he is there and all but i dont FEEL him. i dont pray as much as i used to because when i did i didnt feel anything. i could have a horrible fight with my dad, go and cry on my bed and pray to him and not feel like he was there.

i just feel so alone sometimes so i just go ahead and live my life. i go to church because my parents make me and i do want to have a stronger faith life like i used to but i just dont see the point in it any more. i dont feel like god is even there.

everyone is all like "god is so active in my life" and "god is speaking to me" and i just dont hear that. when i sit alone in a room, i feel truely alone. sometimes when i am going through a hard time i feel like there is no one there for me.

i just dont get it.

has anyone had these feelings before?
what do i do?
is this athiest of me?

Many people seem to believe that the end is nigh because of an apparent increase in 'signs'.

We are now living in a world of instant news access via TV and Internet.

Would this suggest that disasters and wars are not more numerous now, just more evident?

I would like you to explain this. This is a true story (believe or not):

When I was about 5 years old, my brother, "Bryan", had Neuroblastoma and at this time he was 8 years old and had had it for about 4 years. While my dad stayed with me and my other 2 brothers at home, my mom stayed with Bryan at the hospital.
One night, Bryan woke up my mom at 4 o'clock in the morning saying "mom, Grandpa wants to talk to you". My mom tried to ignore Bryan for she was tired and knew that Bryan was on these kinds of drugs that made him illusional and besides that, my grandpa was dead. When my mom woke up in the morning Bryan ran up to her with a smile. "Grandpa told me to give this to you," he said holding up a sticker. My mom grabbed the sticker and looked at it. It said "I Believe In Me, POPS"(pops was my grandfathers nickname). My mom asked him where he got it and he kept saying from pop so my mom asked every nurse on the floor if any of them gave Bryan that sticker. They all

I have been brought up as a Christian. I have a scientific background which has taught me that I should only believe that for which I have evidence. The Bible is a text which, from a scientific point of view, is full of holes big enough to drive a coach and horses through. What we know to be factual about
the universe is at odds with whats in the Bible

killed Jesus?

THE ROMANS KILLED JESUS. They were the only ones who practised crucifixion.

And no: they didn't do it because the Jews asked them to - the Romans were incredibly cruel to the Jews and they certainly didn't do anything the Jews asked them to!

Remember - all the Christian accounts of the death of Jesus were written long after the event.
