One of the few things that Belgium has ever done right.

2007-09-07 11:33:07 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 2 1

Actually, it's only CONTEMPLATING declaring it a criminal organization... though I think it would be a phenomenal move on the part of Belgium to recognize Scientology for the dangerous, scamming business/cult that it is.

Operation Clambake's website has information on the cases in Germany and Greece against Scientology.

In Greece they didn't originally come in claiming to be a "church" but rather a "non-profit philosophical association" which is actually a VERY differant thing under Greek law

No the article states that some people in the Church of Scientology have been accused of criminal acts...where did it say the faith itself is outlawed? Do you read the articles you post? If so, do you comprehend them?

I'm very, very happy. I hope all countries follow suit. Scientology is responisble for so many needless deaths...

Heribert Pfaff, aged 31 died in hotel room, of a seizure. He was undergoing a Scientology treatment regime which required him to cease taking his prescribed anti-seizure medication and take vitamins and minerals instead.

Margarit Winkelmann, aged 51, drowned herself after Scientologists placed her on a similar treatment regime which required her to stop taking Lithium, a mood stabilizer used to treat depression, Bipolar etc.

Check out this link for more examples of such tragedies

The following links are news stories about a girl with schizophrenia, whose parents refused to allow her to take her medication because they were Scientologists. She had a severe psychotic episode because she was deprived of the treament she needed and killed her father and sibling, almost killing her mother too.

Scientologists also believe they have the right to torture or kill ‘Suppressive Persons’ (SP) people who oppose Scientology
“ENEMY: SP Order. Fair game. May be deprived of property or injured by any means by any Scientologist without any discipline of the Scientologist. May be tricked, sued or lied to or destroyed.”

I honestly don't understand why they are allowed to get away with it all.

Edit: Actually Zero Cool is right, they haven't actually done it yet.

I think it is silly to prosecute Scientology.
I do believe it is total bunk, but....
If people are stupid enough to get involved in it, that's on their own heads.
It's difficult to prosecute a belief system because it would be hard to prove that the CoS knowingly suckers in people and knowing rips them off. I'm sure it happens in most religions, so why go after Scientology alone?

Well, I believe that in order to outlaw one religion, you should have to outlaw all of them. Anyone who thinks this is the only religion that is all about the money must not know how much the vatican is worth.

You can't verify truth in the whole faith thing, so saying one religion is defrauding its patrons out of money is not right unless you acknowledge that all of them are. Course, I do believe that all of them are, so I guess I'm not going to outwardly complain about the whole thing.

My thought would be you like many have been led like a sheep as this article has been recirculated and reprinted by thousands of papers worldwide for lack of real complaint against the Church of Scientology.

Why would this be printed: have a look at the following.
