Osama Bin Laden has issued a call for the US to convert to Islam. Of course he will get almost no response to this.

Athiests would you join me in asking Osama Bin Laden to convert to atheism?

Islam?

Just think. Wouldn't it be wonderful to bow to Mecca 5 times a day & let the Islamic Terrorist rule? They would be nice if we did this. They wouldn't blow up in any more public restaurants, would they? If we conform to their demands.

Then of Course to conform to Islam, we would have to deny Jesus Christ our Lord & Savior or have our heads cut off for blasphemy.

My fiance has never been to church. He doesn't know the differences between any religions. He said that he's never really thought about God, heaven, hell, where we came from, where we're going, etc. He doesn't deny there is a God, but he doesn't say there is a God either. He said he's never really thought about stuff like that cause he doesn't really care. He doesn't know enough about religion to care about it. I asked him if he believed in a higher power... He said he's never thought about it. I asked him what he believed in... He said,"Myself, I guess." That just seems weird to me that someone has no thoughts on religion whatsoever. Most people on here know what they believe (yes there is a God, no there isn't a god, there are many gods, etc.) So my question is... What is my fiance? He's not Atheist, because he doesn't deny there is a God. He's not Agnostic, because he doesn't necessarily believe that God's existence is unknowable. He just doesn't care at all. What do you call this?

why define any action as a sin? it's completely pointless. if all that matters is whether we accept christ as our savior then there is no need for the bible.

I hear if you don't worship God or don't ask forgiveness of sins, you go to hell for all eternity. Two problems:
1. If He is all-knowing, then He knows when you are born if you are going to Hell. Why would he allow you to come into this world if He truly loves you if He already knows that you will burn for all eternity?
2. Even the most maniacal maniac will be clear of what he wants--ie. worship me or suffer. If I can go to hell for simply not worshipping God, why wouldn't He make it clear from the beginning. Why would He give no firm proof of His existence only to be surprised at the end of your life with--You should have worshipped me--now burn for all eternity! If He wants me to worship Him so badly, why not just come out and say it unambigously?

I am having a crisis of faith--not trying to insult. Please help. Intelligent answers only.

Now, I'm not American, I'm Canadian, but for some reason it seems that I know more about the founding of the United States than some Americans do.

Please tell me why an American would not know that the country was founded on freedom for all, not on Christianity, like some would like to believe.

Given what I know about Americans (which is quite alot since my husband is American and hence so are all his friends and family, as well as personal friends of mine that I've met over the last 10 years), it doesn't make sense why Americans would not know about the founding of their own country.

Not knowing about other countries, I can understand. When you're Rome you don't have to because your powerful enough that it isn't that big a deal.

But not knowing about your own country when the people of said country are so fixated on patriotism makes no sense.

So how is it that Americans can get away with thinking the country was founded on Christianity when it wasn't?

invalidate our arguements against evolution? Can Christians then say, that the Athiests ignorance of God negates their ability to judge his existence?

...do you, as I, see Christianity as a completed form a Judaism, rather than a separate faith?

I've always kind of wondered if not accepting mainstream Christian thought (e.g., if you don't accept Christ you're going to hell) is a basis for being labeled mentally ill. I was just wondering because my minister does it at church alot.

Plus, I've just come across this site that has a link to a very official-looking scientific study that claims that this is true:
http://www.centerforrationaldebate.com/jesus_mental_illness.html

What are your thoughts? This is really trying my faith.

Your thoughts on this lady who was originally asked to change clothes in order to fly on this Southwest flight.

Her skirt is very short, and very low....and I can only imagine what shows when her shirt ruffles, or when she sits down. If I had a child, I would be concerned about them seeing such a spectacle.

However, is this prudish? Does it really matter what she wears as long as her privates do not show? bikinis on the beach show more....however, that is on the beach.....

I'm torn as to my feelings...her right to wear what she wants...our right to not be insulted by seeing her "ladyhood"....

Your thoughts?

Allah SWT said in the Quran that you have messengers and prophets unto thee that where sent for you to choose from and for you to follow inshAllah and he said that Muhammed SAW was the best of those to follow and I am positive the people of the book are protected also that means of the past prophets and peace to them and their families always from Adam to Muhammed SAW. The Lord also said that if we follow anyone today aftter Muhammed that is not guided that we would surely fall astray to evil and wrong doing and or transgression. So I ask you will you pick up your book and look for yourself the truth or do you still require the news of today and yestardady to come?

We call for peace and there is a temple we have and nothing we do intentionally should harm it or others we call for standing peace with pens and books inshAllah tahaha = God Willing Most High. :)

I personally like:

A mother was preparing pancakes for her sons, Kevin,
5, and
Ryan, 3. The boys began to argue over who would get
the first
pancake. Their mother saw the opportunity for a moral
lesson.
"If Jesus were sitting here, He would say, 'Let my
brother
have the first cake. I can wait."
Kevin turned to his younger brother and said, "Ryan,
you be
Jesus!"

Atheist and Agnostic Only. What is a moral or ethical stance you wish to share with your more Religious brethren?

I hope this isn't an inappropriate question. I just wish to know. I know you have morals and ethical standards that match your more Religious brethren. I just wish to know where you stand on topics of your choice. Just call it curiosity and stupidity put together to form one big ball of wanting to know more.
