I believe that we are all connected and a part of God which to me is the sum of everything in the universe.

I actually think Jesus said that, as a matter of fact if you read about Jesus from details of his life other than the Bible (which was not written by Jesus) you would discover he was an amazing man. He was a child of God like the rest of us. And his message was about love.

Anyway my point is I think God is Love - and your afterlife is based on the concious thought and effects that you created while you were physically alive and the love you created becomes part of God (Good) and the negative things you have done in your life becomes part of the Devil (Evil).

I don't think you live in clouds and play a harp, or burn for eternity in hell. You are absorbed into the group conciousness. Every action you take effects this.

you're dying of a disease that medicine has a 40% success rate in curing. Your choice is praying to God only or going for the medical treatment.

Which do you choose? (Remember: lying is a sin)

If you stopped believing that I exist, would I disappear?

Think hard before you answer- think even harder if you are religious. This is a question which is asking about your deepest beliefs as well as your logic.

I'm going to wait for a few answers before I post a hypothetical scenario, so do come back and recheck your answers.

I know that many of you will certainly re-think and re-evaluate your responses. In fact, I know that given the same question and situation, I would have to think long and hard myself.

So don't think that I'm picking you apart, or anything like that. Just raising an interesting new angle for you.

"The very essence of faith is a belief in the existence of something that can't be proven. So, naturally, everyone believes their faith is the "right" one. This makes all faiths equally valid, giving no one the right to claim any religious superiority. So people should just practice their faith in the time-honored tradition of religious tolerance."- From the comic strip "Non Sequitor" by Wiley Miller, 1998.

I don't mean this to sound insulting.
I was just listening to Laura Branigan's
version of Forever Young.
And I noticed she say's

I wan't to be Forever Young.
Do you really wan't to live forever, forever?

Does this offend you?

As I said I am not being mean when I ask this.
It's just that you say you wan't to live forever
in the kingdom of heaven forever.
I just thought this might be insulting to you.
That it says this in the song.

P.S I love Laura Branigan.
Don't you?

machine he said, that is a money printing machine. The word got around and police came to arrest him. He told to the police that it was only a show piece and he has neither used nor has the intent to use it. Unconvinced, police said that he had to frame the charge. The man said, then bring a rape charge against me. Surprised, police asked, why? Man said, "because I have the tool for it"!

Pope and Clinton after death. St. Peter sent Pope to hell and Clinton to heaven. In hell that night Pope prayed to the Lord and complained why being a Pope he was in hell and Clinton having done oral and what not *** in White House and other places (may be) in heaven. Prayer accepted and reversal ordered. Next morning walking to their new destinations Pope and Clinton met. Clinton asked, "what is the most important reason for your wish to be in heaven?". Pope said "I want to scr** virgin Marry". Clinton said "you are late by one night, she is virgin no more"!

Again, I'm just curious. It's more of a follow on from my last question. Don't think I'm too lazy, I am also looking for some good books on the subject.
