As a Christian and devout member of the Chruch of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I don't care what religion a person is who is running for president. The religion doesn't make the man.

An atheist. At least an atheist knows they are not Christian. I couldn't vote for someone gullible enough to fall for mormonism.

I do not intend to vote for anyone based on any ONE thing .
I will however vote for the person in whom I believe can do the best all around job at keeping us the best ,strong and, free nation. In the world.
I will vote for the person who best represents the values that I as an individual espouse . I may have to grin and bear it on one or two issues but I realize that on one, single person will ever be able to please me nor any ,one religion. or group, out there.

I would have to vote for a Mormon, atheist seems to be to obsessed with Christians and they would only try to get rid of all the churches and bibles and not do the job there suppose to do.

I think it's funny (and slightly hypocritical) that Mitt is one of the most devout Christian candidates, and that Christians hold that against him.

man that's a hard question. I think religion keeps ppl in check (being afraid of eternal damnation). But most of the conflicts in the world are due to religious difference.

All other things being equal, I'd vote for a Mormon (and I am Catholic). While Mormons have an extrabiblical pseudoscripture, they are clearly a Christian organization. One of Jesus' favorite sayings was, "By their fruits you will know them." Mormons generally have good fruits in terms of justice and family values.
An atheist would have a major obstacle in leading a nation whose founding document says that all men are CREATED equal and endowed by their CREATOR with certain unalienable rights. Denying the Creator undermines the basis for our rights.

Why do you people keep saying "I don't know. I'd vote for the best candidate"? By simplying stating that one is a mormon clearly indicates that that individual IS NOT a good candidate. Holy cults and cheese batman! Get out of those crazy cults!!

I look at their stand on the issues first.
Can't say I would vote for one over the other based on your description.
