you're dying of a disease that medicine has a 40% success rate in curing. Your choice is praying to God only or going for the medical treatment.

Which do you choose? (Remember: lying is a sin)

I choose both.

They aren't mutually exclusive options.

I do both. The medical solution may be God's answer. There is the story of a guy on the top of a house in a flood, who prays for a rescue. A boat comes by, and the person says, "No thanks, I'm waiting for God to save me." A helicopter comes by and the person says, "No thanks, I'm waiting for God to save me." Another boat comes by to the same reply. The person dies. In heaven, he asks God why God didn't save him. God says, "What, I sent a helicopter and two boats!!" God CAN work through extraordinary means, but He can also work through ordinary means.

I have to be honest, though, I would pray for God's will to be done. Paul says,"So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him." (2 Corinthians 5:6-9). In essence, to Christians, it is a win/win situation. If we live longer, we can do more for God here. If we die bodily, we live with the Lord. So, I would seek His will. But, I would take the medicine, pray, and leave the decision with Him.

I would choose both....But God is the best doctor..if its His will for the medicine to work then it will....but if not He will allow something to happen ..maybe u r not saved and He gives u a chance to be savd through all ur sickness...ever think about that....and YES prayer does work..i've seen it many of times....Please accept Jesus into ur heart....

One saint had said something similar. A boy is late for
the school. Is it good for him to pray and ask god for
reaching in time or is better if he starts walking fast and
continue praying. Does that answer your question?

I would pray to God because regardless of what you all think you still need to allow for the possibility and / or probability that He does indeed exist and therefore i would rather make sure of my afterlife than worrying about a couple of years the medicine (supposedly) could give me.

Obviously praying to God gives you more advantage than medicine because He forgives your sins and even if you die you go to heaven.

Medical treatment is the only effective option.

Problems related to the function of the human body will not be influenced by my invisible thoughts to an invisible non-entity. Didn't the black plague prove that?

Disease is not caused by some supernatural beings or spirits, as previously assumed by our ignorant ancestors.

P.S. I'm surprised by the thumbs down. What are people thinking? Have they every read about the black plague killing 1/4 of Europe's highly religious population?

Pray to God and let Him tell you what to do in the situation. Then obey God's direction.

I would choose both.
I am a Christian.
I am not stupid.
Why do you think Christians don't seek professional help?
By the way, most doctors I know are Christians too.

you pray and YESHUA sometimes heals through
medication and sometimes HE doesn't. it is up to
the TRINITY how one gets healed. medication can
help. surgery can help. let go and let GOD.

i'm at this point right now. i'd rather be with the TRINITY.
