Have you noticed that atheists are taking over the religion and spirituality section? This section is for people with a religion to discuss that religion and to ask questions about it! Not for atheists to come and make fun of us! Just asking: Why are you atheists ruining everything Christians/other religions have to talk about?

I allowed my son to go to catholic bible study with his nana and grampa. I was informed he was to go to confession as part of the class ( I said absolutely not ) curriculum. What does a 6 year old child have to confess? He stole a pudding pop from the freezer when mom was in the shower?? I dont get it?

O. K. Here is the deal, I am trying to get back into Christianity and was looking for a church to attend and my neighbor (I live in an apartment building) asked me to go to Fellowship Bible Church with her for this coming Sunday. I haven't yet agreed to go; haven't disagreed either, but today she wanted to get me caught up in bible study, so I went to her house and we read the first 3 chapters in the book of John. Her husband said that he was baptized as a baby and he felt that was good and that he didn't need to be baptized again. I just kept an open mind; not really sure what to think. I too, was baptized in Lutheran Church as a baby and was confirmed at 14. Well, his wife said that infant baptism does not count because you are not aware of the significance of this choice. Again, I just kept an open mind and closed mouth. Well, then I couldn't stand it anymore so I asked, "What happens to babies that die suddenly and were not yet baptized?"

ing in God and the Bible? Many people believe in God , Christians! Just because they don't think your Jesus was all that, doesn't mean they don't believe in some God or God sense! It doesn't mean that they don't find some of the Bible useful or that they haven't read it either. Some non Christians have read that Bible way more than Christians have! So why the defenses thrown out there about non Christians not believing in God or reading the Bible or having some belief in some of the Bible's advice? Are you that shallow to think that all non Christians don't believe in God or don't ever read a Bible? Who taught you that garbage?

Can anyone help me find some good sites (that will not over load my mind with info) to tell me the historical (not your belief) life of Jesus and Mohammad? As well as the impact their deaths had on the religions, they ways each was/is worshipped, and the messages that are carried out today?

I am having problems trying to find a site that does not cover so much information that I get confused on what I am reading. Any suggestions on sites that tell enough but not go into extreme detail?

There appears no self denail in "christians" today.They use tabaco, alcohol, gamble, practice sexual acts of homosexuality, fornacation, adultery its become impposible to tell them from the world.

How can you call yourself a Christian and not follow Christ?
As I read this verse, those who want to ''come after'' Christ must do two things.
1."deny himself"
2.''take up his cross''
And then they can ''follow'' Jesus.
Where is your cross and what are you denying yourself of?

I have a friend that is a good Christian but that also practices some forms of Wicca. She likes being in nature and doing many Wiccan rituals in nature. She says that it makes her feel closer to God. Do you think that a person can do this? I've done some research and have found that many early Christians where considered mystics. Would that be the same thing? What's your opinion?

the word atheism consists of two parts:
a- means without
theism-means belief

How can someone claim to be athiest if they have no beliefs?
If you have no beliefs, how can you believe that religion is false? anyone think its illiogical?

Haven't they been taught that we all go to some eternally damned separation from God place if we don't say and know that Jesus was the Only Begotten Son of God, and to swear to that, even though they don't know?

And to see others as some sort of heathens to be oppressed or as having reason to oppress them and keep material to themselves as a reward for their "beliefs" that are treated like they were really knowledge?

Don't they tell you that God is everywhere?

How then can anything separate from that God?

Doesn't God know everything including all your sins/differences/ motions before you were born?

Isn't this what the christians believe? They think their god created sin, put that tree in the garden for adam and eve, and insists they love him. But they call it "saving" when he then doesn't punish you for things he created? I can not make sense of it. Can some one explain what makes them think not torturing a person is the same as saving?
