Agreed!!!! Good point.
I guess you could compare it to "Heaven" because it will be great all the time, and there will never be anything to argue about, or have conflict over.
Q: Hey, I'm bored here in heaven. Wanna go skydiving?
A: Nope, just did that.
Q: Well, wanna eat steak and lobster?
A: Had it for dinner last night.
Q:I know! Let's go get a massage!
A: Been there, done that. Twice today already.
Sounds boring to me! Seriously, what good is life if there are absolutely no problems? If we didn't have to stress over money, bills, kids, mortgages, spouses, etc.... We would all end up spoiled and out of control like Lindsey and Paris.
So thank goodness we are rational, and realistic. Because even though christians won't admit it, R & S would be dull without us heathen atheists to bicker with. Kinda like "heaven" is gonna be.

Well...to answer the main question, one word: balance, as for Brittany, since you do not accept e-mails and what not...you help me be an Atheist every day...maybe not you personally, but at least you as part of the 'faith' so I thank ALL Christians that helped me become Atheist! And it would be boring as f*ck without us...and if we do pack up and go to another place...well, it'll start WW III when a Christian upsets a Muslim who upsets a Jew who upsets a Taoist and it goes on and on and eventually it might even start an actual war..(far fetched but I don't put anything past it...) with Atheists, who normally have a cooler head (from what I could tell usually) the religious zealots out there can vent out there 'righteous' pissiness out on us...so we're really doing the Christians and the world at general a favor, (not on Y!A per se, but in the world as a whole) without Atheists...they'd eventually TRULY turn on one another...and bye-bye world...

I know what you mean. What's even more ridiculous is when they assume that atheists must be here for some hidden reason. I've heard people say "atheists are here because they secretly want to learn about Christ" dozens of times on this site. I just don't understand the logic... does it escape some people THAT much that a nonreligious person can have an opinion about religion and like to talk about it? Is that really so unbelievable?

People who know God do not ask questions in R&S. They don't doubt God, and they're questions are instantly answered by a higher power.
As far as I can tell R&S is mostly questions from lost people no matter what tiltle they use (or blasphemous rants to end all).
God is not a belief. God is not a religion.
Down with blasphemy/ Up with God!
Feel free to thumbs down this.
I would expect that the truth would hurt the guilty.
I would encourage the un-knowing to expand their knowledge. Doubting is the great way to know. It's either in you or it isn't.
If you don't know, it's really never too late to understand.

Since an atheist, by definition, is a person not inclined toward religious belief and denies the existance of a deity or deities, it seems strange that you would post in a catagory that is specifically labeled Religion and Spirituality. Are you a closet believer?

Basically I guess it would be one big "reported for chatting" section...
I mean, what can they ask that they can't look up? The all find their answers in that book, and they all own a copy, and no one knows the answers any better then the next mortal human.
So unless they expect the god itself to come on Y!A and give them all the answers they could ever need...then their asking stuff is pointless.

Why do we ask? Because we get tired of being called idiots in a forum where we are supposed to be able to discuss our religion and learn about others beliefs.
What would we talk about? Most likely liturgical differences and attacks on other faiths. In other words, things wouldn't change too much.
Don't leave. We want you here.

The reverse would be true as well. An atheist section with questions about seperation of church & state or evolution with everyone agreeing and patting eachother on the back with thumbs up. Boring. There needs to be a balance.

Because they hate the voice of reason. They all fear that what we say is true. Furthermore they begin to doubt themselves and I believe some may even self flagellate after a session in yahoo answers.

we are that common enemy that keeps them from ripping each other throats out
