It doesn't mean that they don't find some of the Bible useful or that they haven't read it either. Some non Christians have read that Bible way more than Christians have! So why the defenses thrown out there about non Christians not believing in God or reading the Bible or having some belief in some of the Bible's advice? If a person doesn't believe in God, then I'm not going to stand there arguing with them. As for the Bible, most atheists I know have read it. An atheist friend of mine wrote a book on it. Soon people will stop talking and when that happens you can believe in God all day, but he is going to ask you what about his son? God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit make up one Godhead..you can't accept one and not the other. I think that is what people are trying to tell you.
Now as for Non-Christians yeah they read the bible...so what? What about yourself? Stop passing the buck and look at you. You can't take no one's place when you die and see Jesus for the day of Judgement. Worry about yourself, and do not bring to mind the things that others do. It counts for nothing. You can not take one part of the Bible and reject other parts...God said he is the same today, yesterday and forever more. He does not change.
I guess the better question is why do you not think that Jesus was all of that? Let's ask that question...He died for you so that your sins would be covered if you sought him and asked to be saved. He was born of a virgin being the perfect sacrafice..he was obedient unto death...folks wanted him crucified even after all the time he spent healing them, teaching them, and feeding them!!! Has anyone done that for you in this world that you know of? Could you find anybody? Do you know that when Jesus died and he arose on the 3rd day he said all power was given to him! He has power over all flesh! He can make death behave! He can make sickness flee! He can make the blind see! He can raise the dead! He can give you power to do things...I could not possibly sit humbly by and say Jesus was not all that. I'm sorry that's just impossible for me.
