History and any solid research tells us that the oldest living religion is Hinduism with the vadic scriptures in sanscrit going back 4000 years. There were many pagan religions that predate the Jewish religion and Christanity and Islam are relative new comers. If we have a loving and merciful God how can we only have one path and what about all the people who never belived in the God of the Jews or in Jesus. It seems to me that if you believe in only one truth it allows you to diminish people of other faiths. This in turns allows us to have wars such as the Shia and Sunni or the many Christian wars in European History. Fundamentalism seems to be a harmful force in the world. I would like to hear thoughtful responses to this question.

Do you worship his hate and his fear as truth and is it no wonder our lives are so messed up if you see how he acted as perfection?

When he said to slay his enemies at his feet or called pharasees' teachers "father the devil", is this the Christ the Christians worship and the reason they are willing to learn to kill instead of rationalize with their enemies in their languages?

Why are we not teaching our children to speak our enemies' language and teach them to love and debate to a civilized way of life?

according to some religions we created the world with our thoughts. That would mean god and heaven are real. Do you agree?

I would just like to understand that idea a little more in case that argument arises from boyfriend's side of the family. We are discussing marriage, and I'm trying to figure out the way a Pagan/Christian ceremony would happen. And after reactions I've had on here, I would like to understand more fully why some Christians are telling me that he wouldn't marry me if he was a "true" Christian.

I just don't get it. You can't help who you love, right?

Is there some kind of line drawn in the thought processes that just says: well, that's the limit of evidence. I've seen it all. Therefore my conclusion must be correct.

it stems from the first 12 apostles, who were personally given power to forgive sins, concecrate bread and wine etc. How do protestants pass over the need to confess their sins? Jesus said to the apostles" If you forgive the sins of men they shall be forgiven but IF YOU HOLD THEM BOUND THEY ARE HELD BOUND" How would they hold sins bound if they did not first listen to the confession? Serious Christians only answer this.

Background info:
My dad always tells me this story about when he and mum were first married and they (i know this sounds ridiculous but my dad swears blind this is true) went to a village in Devon in the 70s to find it completely flooded with the villagers walking around not caring about all the water... when they went back next year no-one knew a thing and church records show the village hadn't flooded since Victorian times so dad believes they somehow saw the past....

ANYWAY:
Dad always says, "seriously, ask mum" but whenever I do she's never wanted to talk about it or says it never happens or generally gets funny about it and she's never one to talk about weird stuff - she's a cheeky Cockney not a spiritualist!!

BUT:
She recently confided in me that she woke up one night in our new house about 2 years ago to see a young girl with blonde ringlets standing over her bed watching her, and she said she's seen orbs and stuff - she knows how ridiculous it sounds and so do i...

M. Hirsch Goldberg in his book The Jewish Connection states: " The Star of David is not of Jewish origin - and the ancient Israelites never used it as their religious symbol" (they used the Menorah or Seven Candlestick). So, why did the six-pointed star become known as the Jewish star? This symbol was widely adopted, not because the Jewish people chose it, but ironically because Adolph Hitler forced all Jews to wear a yellow six-pointed star during the holocaust.

To me its a symbol of Israel and its suffering at the Holocaust although it was used in magic earlier..

What is it to you?

Don't just say Pagan or witchcraft and run..like CJ. Give a credible source.

"The most excellent Jihad is that for the conquest of self.

The exercise of religious duty will not atone for the fault of an abusive tongue.

A man cannot be a Muslim till his heart and tongue are so.

Whoever hath been given gentleness, hath been given a good portion in this world and the next.

Whoever suppresseth his anger, when he hath in his power to show it, God will give him great reward.

That person is wise and sensible who subdueth his carnal desires and hopeth for rewards from God; and he is an ignorant man who followeth his lustful appetites, and with all this asketh for God's forgiveness.

May God fill the heart of that person who suppresseth his anger with safety and faith.

"Give me advice," said someone. Muhammad said, Be not angry."

So... where do we draw the line? Are we (believers) to take part in things that aren't "of God" but don't "appear" bad? Where do you draw the line with music and with TV and with conversation topics and places we go? What is the inbetween? How are we supposed to be "in" this world but not "of" it?
