God gave us the tools to use (our minds and bodies), His rules to follow (if we choose to follow these Rules) for a truly meaningful life on this earth by using those tools, and a hint of what awaits us after this life on earth if we do follow His Rules (basking in His Glory - but what this means is a separate, very involved discussion). You'll notice that this definition covers all mankind, not only Jews - it's just that Jews were given more Rules to follow.
