What I'd like to do is paint for you a picture of what it means to an atheist when they are told that they are being prayed for.
Picture if you will a stranger approaching you, pointing to a little bug on the sidewalk and saying to you, "Do you see that bug there? Did you know that that little bug loves you and you should love it?
You of course say "Okay, whatever" while you tightly grasp your pocket book and spy him with a weary eye.
Then he says with a choppy egg-slicer grin, "Well you wanna know what? It's true! And you wanna know somethin' else?" he bends down lifting the bug from the ground, "I am going to take this bug home, put it into a jar with holes poked in the lid and next to that jar I am propping a small sign that says 'YOU LOVE LADY SAPHIRA AND LADY SAPHIRA LOVES YOU TOO!"
You say, "Yeah, okay whatever. Good-bye stranger." And then that stranger runs down the block laughing with the bug and a mission. This man goes home and actually builds this inexpensive but bizarre little shrine to you on his window sill, and every so often he reads the sign aloud to the bug that's inside that jar.
LADY SAPHIRA, the feelings you'd have for that smiling stranger are precisely the same feelings an atheist would have when you say that you're going to pray for him or her.
I'd be so pleased if you understood what I wrote here today, but I don't think that you will.

Well it isn't necessary to be rude... unless the so called Christian is intruding where they are not wanted. Which is actually quite a bit more rude. Many do not believe what you believe. Many have been so wounded and damaged by the Christian churches that anything connected with Christianity is quite painful and obnoxious. I have seen people who took almost a lifetime to rehabilitate themselves from the damage done to them by various churches. If you really care, then all you have to do is show love for someone. You don't have to beat them over the head saying they are going to hell all of the time. You don't know what anyone's ultimate fate is, and it is arrogant and sinful to believe that you do. So if you are Christian, it shouldn't even bother you if people are rude. Show them love anyway. And it certainly isn't your business to be condemning them all the time if you don't want to end up in a boat going where you don't want to be as well.

Fine... then I'll "care" about your health by coming over and taking all your food, finding reasons why every bit of it would be unhealthy for you to eat. And make this decision FOR you...you can't have a say, even if it's your life.
What you do is NOT caring... it's rudeness that you've convinced yourself is good because you've convinced yourself that only you are right and have the right to intrude into the lives of others and push them to join what YOU believe.

Oh my god! Haven't you guys destroyed most of the world with the same Bull crap? Worry about your soul. Are you saved? Are you sure about that? Just by believing in Jesus will save you from everything else? You can go around killing people, raping women, destroying the civilizations, looting the temples and houses, and you think you guys will be saved.
I think all the civilizations which have been destroyed in the name of Christianity will goo to heaven. Those people will be standing by Jesus. You guys will be burning in your so called Bible Hell.

It's not really what you say but *how* you say it. If you truly love someone you will be a living example and people will be inspired and come to *you.* Isn't that how Jesus did it? He never chased someone down and forced his views on others.. people came to Him.

Amen! I could not agree with you more. But many do not "see it that way" because they are thinking we are coming here to say we are better than they are, and condemning them--- when in reality we are sharing the gospel because we care!
If we did not care, why would we bother sharing His word? We know it makes people angry, and we still share it because we know it is the most IMPORTANT thing they will ever do, is give their life to God.
And we know the time is now! After this life it is too late-- then comes judgment.
