As hurricane Dean approaches the Gulf Coast, I am reminded that both Pat Robertson and Fred Phelps claimed that hurricane Katrina was an act of "Divine Retribution."

Has anybody ever explained exactly or approcimately why God was mad at Biloxi, Missisippi?

I don't know how many people have asked questions and answered questions with a "your so stupid why do you think the way you do?" attitude. Do we really think that will change the way people think?

You can try and knock us Christians down but through God's grace we'll get up and keep fighting. You can even kill us but that will only raise up more believers to spread the word of God?Think of it,if christianity is false then why do millions believe? Why are people willing to sacrifice themselves for Christ's Namesake?I can tell you this, even if christianity were made illegal in the u.s. I would still call myself a Christian and so will millions of others so atheists, satanists, pagans, agnostics, etc.I warn you now STAND DOWN,SURRENDER,YOU'VE LOST.

If it is a command to "Worship in spirit and truth".
How do you make sure that your worship is the "TRUTH" if you are not allowed to go outside the printed material of your particular religion to look for balace, or scriptural accuracy?

You don't want to have to answer to God for your sins, so you just deny God altogether in order to avoid having to take accountability for your actions.
You can't stand the fact that there is a divine law that you HAVE to follow.
You can't stand the idea of having anything higher than yourself and having to answer to anyone but yourself.
You are selfish and live for yourself.
You are too proud to admit there is a God.
You think that you are God.
You worship lies.
You are mad at God.
You are going to come to come to the end of your life and have to face God but you deny that because you know you are not worthy of facing God. You are sending yourself to Hell. God does not send you to Hell, you send yourself there. There is no way you can be saved without Jesus.
I am not wishing for you atheists to go to Hell, but that is what is going to happen if you don't accept Jesus as your savior and own up to the fact that God exists.
Christians aren't perfect, just forgiven.

I have been feeling very stressed and very lacking in the joy of the Lord. I am ashamed that I feel this way because all my needs are met and God is so good. in my 20s I was very high on life and very joyful and would make people laugh because they thought I was cute. I am in my mid 30s I am more reserved and have slowed down. My question is how do you get the joy of the Lord back in life even in the midst of stress and hard times?

Given the fact that human race exist on earth from million of years, right from the cave man days. How come God send the King just 2000 years before? I see its unfair for those people, for missing so much.

Is there a ay that the contradictions between religion and science can ever be explained in some way to allow them both to truthfully exist together?

for example science says basically that the universe was created by the big bang but the very first moments of how the bang came about are unknoiwn since something would have been created out of nothing. however that is scientifically impossible.

religions.. well those i know to a limited extent... show that God made the universe and he was there before anything else. which also is scientifically impossible.

can this possibly mean that god truly does exist and possibly created a world in which science was true... excluding the creation of the universe?

oh and just randomly does anyone think that this looks like a drooling smiley?

:).........

Everyone ive asked up till now has had a different opinion on what age you should start fasting full-time.
my dad says: when i reach the age of 13
my islamic teacher (at school): when i hit puberty
my maulvi: around the time you grow pubes and facial hair. im guessing he meant puberty.

Im 14 now, and fasted all of ramadan for the past 3 years. but im not sure if it is compulsory or not.

And another thing. I (and my parents encourage me) am trying to learn all about other religions...basically i dont want to follow blindly. if islam, as everyone claims, is flawless and logical... i ill follow it. i will not follow islam because my parents do, i want to make my own path.
my concern is, do i have to pray and/or fast if i dont completely believe?

Islam makes the most sense to me, but i dont want to neglect other religions, and regret it later... i respect all religions, and am tryig to find my way in life.
Can my parents force me to pray and fast?

& please dont preach

I attend a non-denominational Christian church. My step sister, who attends the same church, does not lead a life that indicates any sort of moral standards or any sort of comittment to Christ. Yet she is getting baptised today, for the sole purpose of pleasing her dad. My faith is very important to me, as is the concept of baptism; I have no desire whatsoever to be there when it happens. I realize I don't have any right to judge, but I just don't want to be there. My family, however, would like me to come. Am I wrong? Should I go?

Do you ever feel like banging your head against a wall or screaming at the top of your lungs? Also are you ever ashamed when some of the questions that make you ask yourself what is this person thinking comes from somebody who claims your religious or non religious beliefs?
