If it is a command to "Worship in spirit and truth".
How do you make sure that your worship is the "TRUTH" if you are not allowed to go outside the printed material of your particular religion to look for balace, or scriptural accuracy?

Yuhateme: If you were exclusively using the Bible, I would agree, but if you were having the Bible interperted by someone else, then you have an obligation to make sure of all things.

If you are not allowed to go outside of you religions printed material then I would say that is a big fat red flag. I personally stick to my relationship with the Holy Spirit to guide me in all truth.

Jesus told his disciples to judge it by it's fruit, a good tree can not produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can not produce good fruit.
Moses came down from Mount Sinai, with the 10 commandments and than killed 3000 of his own people, is this good fruit or bad fruit ?
Moses created an image of a serpent and made his people worship it, those who would not died, is this good fruit.

Moses did many miracles, and made fire come down from heaven was this good ?

Now read John 1:17, John 6:32, John 10:7, John 3:14, John 4:21, Matthew 4:6, Matthew 11:11 and Revelation 13:10-18

When was the last time you actually heard the Words Jesus Spoke, have you ever heard Jesus' sermon on the mound in it's intirety, have you ever had a preacher study the Words Jesus spoke other then the blood, the last supper, or other things that are not BREAD.

Agree with Simone The "organization" enslaves the mind and spirit of the members.

We are very blessed to live in a time and place where we can get quite accurate manuscripts, translating material, and translations.

Jeremiah

4:22 For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

Sottish = foolish

5:21
Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not:

Understanding = inner man, mind, will, heart, soul, understanding

It take a lot of work to understand the word of God.

Many people had rather just be told rather than figure it out through study. They are sheep that can be led to the slaughter.

How is it that we know we have the spirit and, thus, truth?
2 Corinthians 3: 17 says--"Now the Lord is that Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Liberty."

Liberty does not mean being bound by law, whether the Moasic Law or the law and dogmas of a man-made organization. Those who are in bondage to the WT do not have liberty, therefore, they don't have truth. It is plainly evident from this verse.

in christianity, you are allowed to look at other religious texts, just not believe or worship it. i agree, however, that the christian scriptures need to be studied and interpreted more publicly instead of at theological schools and on the national geographic channel. christians often reach a stalemate with the understanding of their religion. i think the overdenominationalism of the church has also spurned disharmony inside the church. how can one worship blindly what is still being bandied about like a room fuul of cats playing with a ball of yarn?

Rom 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual:

Psa 119:142 Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and Your law is the truth

Now that you know the scriptural definition of how to worship in spirit and truth, why would you want to look anywhere else?

Pro 4:2 Behold, for I give you sound doctrine, so do not forsake My Laws.

Yahweh then says, through prophecy, "Let these Two Witnesses foretell the things that are coming, and let them proclaim that I am One."

This is the commission of these two men in these Last Days, which is also the commission for the group, known as the seed of the Two Witnesses who work for Yahweh. Yahweh calls out whom He wills to do His Work, and He plainly shows that He has called these two men.

We read the prophesied commission to Yahweh's Two Witnesses.

Isayah 44:6-8—
6 This is what Yahweh, the King of Israyl, and Redeemer, Yahweh of hosts, says: I am the first, and I am the last, and except for Me there is no source of power!
7 And Who, as I, will foretell, and set it in order for Me, since I appointed the ancient people? And the things which are coming, and will come, let them foretell them.
8 Do not fear, nor be afraid. Have I not told you from that time, and have declared; You are My witnesses! Is there a source of Power except Me? Truly, there is no other rock; I know not one.

Prophecy shows that the commission Yahweh has given for these Last Days is not the same for each of His Two Witnesses. The witness Yisrayl is to do a work that the witness Yaaqob is not involved in at all. But there is a prophesied work appointed by Yahweh for both witnesses, and this work has already come to pass! It has been fulfilled.

Isayah 44:7—
And Who, as I, will foretell, and set it in order for Me, since I appointed the ancient people? And the things which are coming, and will come, let them foretell them.

...your question is very good... remember "religion" is mans attempt to reach up to God... God knew "we" could never do that so He provided a Way for us... having said that... I don't know what "religion" is discouraging you from Spiritual study, If I were you... I'd "run" to a Church that teaches the Full Gospel of the New Testament and doesn't put any "religious" chains on you... Remember it's God Word... not "religions".
Get an Internationally recognized translation of the Bible (not just the "exact" one that your "religion" may have given you...
I like reading from the New International Version... it reads very clearly and without all the "thees and thou's" like some Old English translations do.. Study Gods Word... remember, who the Son has set free, is free indeed...

I believe by the truth Jesus means Himself. The fact that He is the Savior, the promised Messiah, the substitute for our sins as well as the ruling King. He Himself said, I am the Truth. In other words we worship God in truth when we come to God through Christ.

This question is not childish but I have to wonder about your age and the Honor Thy Mother and Thy Father clause.

1 John 4
Test the Spirits (and printed dogma)

1Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
