I am referring to Matthew 8:29 , Mark 1:24 , Luke 4:34 on each of these accounts the demons know who He is.

Atheists are always pushing their beliefs on everyone and trying to convert people to their belief system. Why?

I'm a Christian. I can understand why some Christians would say no to this answer. And the reason why I think so is because of the fact that Harry Potter deals with occult-related materials and because it can be so influential to some people, it could potentially lure some Christians into that type of activity, which is considered a "no-no" in Christianity.

However, I believe that Christians can read Harry Potter, just as long as they don't get influenced by the book and attempt to do magical or occult-related things.

Christians, what do you think of Harry Potter? Atheists are also welcomed to answer/comment on this question. I value everyone's opinion...just as long as they're are not any verbal attacks or bull ish answers from anyone. Thank you.

I'll even accept bible passages on the occult as an answer. Really I would. Thank you.

There are many kind and loving people as well. But why is it that there so many mean and judgmental people in the church today? The church should be about loving one another. When I was much younger it seems to me we loved each other a little more.

I am not. I don't condone suicide, but I believe that all religions are correct in the sense that there is an afterlife, and if you've led a respectable life, that you are bound to something greater than life in this plane. If you have not, then in some sense or another, you will be bound by your own guilt and torment for the decisions you made. Note: I think all religions are manmade, but they all graze upon the truth as well. They say it in different words, with different imagery and concepts.

Scientists have tried to prove the creation wrong but all they ended up doing was proving it right.........they have proven that the world was mapped out that there has to be a creator..and that creator is God almighty.

I am not afraid of evolution. It just takes too much faith to believe that we came from nothing but soup. How does that make any sense? If you look around and see the design, it had to have been created by an intelligent creator. That creator is God.

I recently met a someone who was born intersexed in chat. i think i could like them, but from a religious stand point i am very confused. I am afraid I must be a graphic in my description. This person was born with a small penis that works, not testes or ovaries and no vagina. But they have a small uterus and small breasts. Is this person as defined by God male or female? This person was raised female and lives as one as an adult. But I know there are cases where those born with both parts have chosen to be male or female. Because this person has a uterus I figure she was meant to be female but how can i know for sure? I don't want to sin against God by entering a possible gay relationship. Is this person really female?

By default a child becomes a Christian, Muslim or a Jew as he is born in the respective families and stays like that for the rest of his life without questioning! He is forbideen to question. Faith cannot be challenged! But he can choose to be a Democract or a Republican when he is old enough to understand!

Sometimes I read answers on here (from fundies, usually, although I'm not trying to lay blame on anyone in particular) where I honestly don't even see how the answer is relevant to the question. For instance, on The HypoPope's question, "Why was it okay to level Sodom and Gomorra?"

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ah6LojUhwyf7D1gK4sNNeAU8.Bd.?qid=20070818120001AAKDRwe

I read at least one reply that basically stated all the people there deserved to die because of the original sin. Are you serious? So, I guess that goes for New Orleans, too, and any other similar disaster?

That does not even show real effort at even trying to understand what HypoPope's question was about.

Sometimes I feel that some people are so determined to be blind that it is truly hopeless to even attempt to discuss anything in seriousness with them.

Anyone else ever feel this way??

As a follower of Jesus Christ, I would pray and pray and pray , that other people on this earth would come to know Him before it was there last moment on the earth. I would be ready to meet my Maker. How do I know that? Because Jesus paid the way for me to have a eternal relationship with Him. Also I would pray that I lived my life to please Him, and ask Him to forgive anything that i have done that disappointed Him. And I would seek people out and not just say I love them, I would show them, A matter of fact this is the way we should live as Christian's every day, so I pray there would be nothing that I would have to change that day.

If you would use self defense one on one, why would you not fight to protect your family and neighbors from attackers?

God will judge us for our wickedness.
But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.
But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,

I have a friend who's involved in a church who's leader I have reason to believe is leading his followers astray. She e-mailed me some of his views and I found in the Bible direct disagreements to what he teaches. I want to let my friend know this, and I want her to realize that she is in error. The problem is, she is a very devout follower of this man and I don't like stepping on people's toes. Also, english is her second language. Would it be better to explain these contradictions I've noticed via e-mail, or face to face? Also, how should I lead in to what I'm about to tell her, knowing it's stripping away th foundation she's been standing on for years now?
