I for one believe that Zeus and Company might have been real at one time, maybe aliens, whatever, who happened to land on Earth among primitive people. In the right setting, even I'd come off like a goddess. That doesn't make him God Almighty, so yes, I still wouldn't "believe" in him no matter how many thunder bolts he threw.

Just because someone is standing in front of me and calling himself Zeus doesn't make him Zeus. I once met Napoleon in NYC and I seriously doubt that was him.

I would believe that a demon manifested itself as Zeus. I believe that is how the existence of a lot of the ancient gods came about.
