This is just to reiterate what others have said. Demons are actually those followers of Lucifer or Satan. They were expelled from Heaven along with Satan when they rebelled against God Almighty. Their mission is to make sure that they do not burn in Hell alone but with a lot of people who follow them, regardless of whether they follow them intentionally or inadvertently.

They change their appearance at will in order look like those people who are buried and make us believe that we can actually communicate with those people who are dead. This is not so! The Bible eloquently states that those who are dead know nothing and they cannot help us or harm us or even communicate with us but these demons fool many of us.

Now to get to your question. As evidenced by what I have written above, these demons were together in Heaven with Jesus and they therefore know exactly who He is. Satan himself knows who Jesus is. Read the part where Satan tries to convince Jesus to throw Himself down the parapet of the temple and Satan quotes from the Text that God said He will 'command His Angels concerning you, to guard you' (Luke 4 Veses 9-12). Satan know exactly who Jesus was and that is why he was tempting him all the time into committing a sin.

Well, the same cannot be said for other people. The very reason for sending Jesus down to die for our sisn was because people were drowning in sin at the time. They did not worship God and were not even aware of His existence. It was therefore, not possible for people to acknowledge His existence, particularly His existence in a human form, amongst them. It was unthinkable for them to actually acknowledge that. I hope I have answered to the best of my ability here. God Bless you and thank you for this eye-openning qustion of yours.

The spiritual leaders of his time were Israelites, Hebrews who followed the law of Moses and believed that there was only One God in Heaven. They did not recognize or approve of anyone who stood outside the law and declared himself the son of man or the son of God. The law of Moses was formal: one God, one law for the Hebrews and anyone who broke the law was punished by death, be it crucifixion or stoning.
The Bible also says: By Beelzebub does he do these things. Jesus said: If the devil drove out his own demons, how would his kingdom stand. I would say that Jesus had the power to see them.

Isaiah 6:9-10

And he said, “Yes, go, and say to this people,

‘Listen carefully, but do not understand.
Watch closely, but learn nothing.’
Harden the hearts of these people.
Plug their ears and shut their eyes.
That way, they will not see with their eyes,
nor hear with their ears,
nor understand with their hearts
and turn to me for healing

The Israelis are the gate keepers.
they hold open the door unaware Christ is the door
Thereby allowing the rest of humanity time to learn and accept Christ as the Way

One day the Israelis will begin recognizing Christ, Then the time will be short til His Return

Demons are attuned to spiritual matters, but they serve the enemy...spiritual leaders of that time were NOT yet filled with the Holy Spirit, because the "Day of Pentecost" tongues miracle in the upper room hadn't happened yet!

Demons are fallen angels that rebelled against the creator. They still know who Jesus is.They know the lake of fire is real and they want to drag all the people they can with them. They don't want people to believe in the lake of fire or the redemptive blood of Jesus:

That's a very good question. The spritual leaders of that time were fearful, ignorant, and greedy. But, God bless them. They really thought if they had JC killed, the whole matter would go away and they could get back to being the hypocrits they were.

The time for judgment had come. God had, had enough of the children of the ones who killed the prophets.

Mat 13:14 Indeed, in their case the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled that says: "'You will indeed hear but never understand, and you will indeed see but never perceive.
Mat 13:15 For this people's heart has grown dull, and with their ears they can barely hear, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and turn, and I would heal them.'

Judgment always begins at the House of God!
Blessing Bro.

All of flesh is built up and not perfect, inside the head of natures creatures, it is dark... fear, demons, foolishness and stupidity rule until enlightenment... Our conscious brain is the demon.
