There are many kind and loving people as well. But why is it that there so many mean and judgmental people in the church today? The church should be about loving one another. When I was much younger it seems to me we loved each other a little more.

Have you ever been to a church where you ask yourself:

"Do they give gold stars to someone who runs someone else out of the church?"

I have, but then Christ never told us that being a Christian was easy, In fact Christ told us:
"Matthew 5:11
Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake."

The bible answers your question best.
In the last days the people will be hardheaded. The people will be against people.
God puts fear in people.
The people will be convinced that the false teachings they had been brought up to believe will be true.
There'll be many evil forces.
There'll be only one man on the earth among the people in the last days who will know better than to believe the false teachings, and not one man will believe him.
Man might know good and evil, but that doesn't mean that any of the people will recognize good and evil.
That must be true, because the bible says people sees good and evil, but to God all things are good.
So then, why are people so judgmental? Maybe because they don't actually recognize what's actually good and what's actually evil.
Maybe because the sinners are tired of the pain and suffering they have to often experience while they are in hell?
Maybe the sinners in hell are getting impatient of waiting for God's son to return to the earth in the last days?
Maybe the sinners in hell are confused of why the universe evolves the way things do?
Maybe they are wondering why they deserve such punishments and abuses they keep having to endure from Satan?
The bible warns about the evil forces.
The people apparently fail to recognize all of the evil forces they have to deal with.
Have you asked, "What evil force have a grip on you today?"

the actual and institutional illustration of religion and faith. as a company, the church additionally skill the numerous hatred bigotry and organic prejudice that people who've led those church homes in the previous have inspired and the deaths and suffering this has led to. the extra modern-day church isnt 0.5 as undesirable, yet nevertheless has an over all detrimental impact on society, with the aid of fact it restricts people's questioning and, in the worst case subject, hones their prejudice. i understand that there are beneficial factors to the church, however the detrimental ones outweigh them drastically.

When you become a part of organized religion I think you lose some of your true identity as you take on the collective identity of the group. I have to wonder if some of the judgments and admonishments are spoken from the heart or if they are repeating the popular views of the majority, who today are far more vocal in condemning others.

One reason is people today don't read the Bible as much as they used to, so they don't know that it says to love one another and that God is the any one who has the right to judge. Another reason is that in alot of churches people either don't get along with each other or they just don't get to know anyone else that well, making them uneasy around each other.

In Christianity we must learn unity and teamwork in order to be successful in Christ.

The Church is not only about loving one another..the church is about taking the message of salvation to the world....and when we do.....to a person who is living in sin....the first thing they say, is how judgmental we are...we didn't judge your sin,,,,,God did....all we do is tell you what the Bible says....if you living a Gay lifestyle, overeating, stealing,,etc....and we tell you it is wrong....you yell at how judgmental we are....are we? Or are you feeling convicted of the sin?

If we didn't love you and want you to go to Heaven, we would just let you go....it would certainly be easier on us to just keep our knowledge of God to ourselves...but that is not what God wants...he wants us to tell you, you are headed down the wrong path in life and need to turn around before it's too late...

...sadly, people are "bound in religion"...trapped in the teachings of "denominational" nonsense that takes the Word of God and manipulates it to fit "their" religion... When "we" as a "religious" people try to hold on to teachings that are completely un-Scriptural, we become defensive because we don't know Gods Truth..."we" defend our "religion" (which is in fact, indefensible in the sight of God)... If "we" believe that Jesus is Lord, Messiah and Savior then why don't "we" simply just follow His Words and instructions...? That's all it takes... but "some" have incorporated "their" extra-biblical revelations in order to maintain the "religious bondage"... Such as... wearing "special garments" (where does Jesus even suggest such a fallacy ?) ...holding and fumbling with little icons and trinkets ? (take me to chapter and vs. if you can where Jesus tells us to do that). Lighting candles, waving smoke, ringing bells, attaching yourself to some type of devise to reach a place called "clear"...? and re-doing Gods Word in very, very, subtle ways to "skew" Scripture for the "religious" agenda (The "cults" have their own-exclusive translation of the bible and forbid their "captives" to ever read or research Scripture from anywhere else)... So today, "religious" people are angry and afraid... The have lost the meaning of... Who the Son sets free, is free indeed.

It's simply human nature. I don't believe that there are any more "mean" people in the church than there are in other groups. People as a group tend to be nasty. Sorry if someone has been rude to you. I agree people should be kinder and more loving especially people who profess to be Christians.

There could be just perception issues. Southerners vs. Yankees. Or it could be not applying Bible principals.

If it is perception, get over it.

If it is not applying Bible principals, that is a much larger problem. Wars are fought by countries with members of the same faiths on both sides. In actuality, they kill their brothers. Anything more mean than that?

they repress rather than repent. they hold their pride rather than receive humility. they choose religion rather than the relationship. shall I go on?

No church is perfect. Even if we found one, it would no longer be perfect because we're there. No one is perfect. All have fallen short. Church is a place to encourage others and be encouraged by them. Some will encourage, while others will discourage. Either way, you better keep your eyes on Jesus.
