I was always intrigued by the old grimoires.

In studying the old grimoires in my University days, I was struck by the almost scientific complexity of ritual. Anyone who has perused the Key of Solomon and its companion book, the Goetia, knows that there are so many particulars to any ritual that it rightly earns its name of being an "operation" to carry out. Everyone also knows that the main function of the grimoires is to contact spirits and/or demons, to seek their aid.

S.L.M. Mathers, with help from other members of the Order of The Golden Dawn, greatly simplified the rituals by interpreting them in the modern sense, and replacing the physical requirements by and large with symbolic ones. For instance, the modern rituals do not require actually drawing out the circle with the various names of God, but rather they can be intoned in the various quadrants and given symbolic place.

Whether simplified or traditional, do you think the grimoires work? I never had any success.

I used to have all kinds of contacts, atheists, sports guys, psychology people, car enthusiasts, lawn and garden folks, and then I added a couple of christians to my contacts and all of the sudden, every one got their accounts suspended, mine included. So in this latest incarnation, I have gone on a christian bashing rampage that is quite .....unlike me.
So my question is this: How can I have a friend who doesn't share my beliefs and carry on a rational conversation with and not have to worry about the evil green smiley face?

I want to know peoples opinions on this, I think the bible was misquoted, being gay is not a choice, and if god didn't want homosexuals he wouldn't have made them, god can't make an abomination, He's perfect, i think if you just exept god into your life there will be a place in heaven for you, no matter if your gay, black, Muslim, or any culture, religeon, or sexuality

why do you believe in god? i don't know what to believe.i want to believe in god but i need a reason, i can't just say i believe in him i need a reason to, an explaination. at the moment i don't believe in god, im catholic and im not religious so god isn't something we talk about. i believe that the meteor struck the earth and things were created like that. how did god do it and how was he created. i want to believe in god but i need a logical answer, i believe the meteor hit the earth because that sounds most logical to me. i don't know if i believe in heaven or hell, what i do believe is that we are reincarnated and we start life again with out even knowing we existed before. what is right and what should i believe? i would like answers from people who study this sort of stuff and have knowledge and be able to give good answers.

lately this demon has been bothering me with fears. I have this fear of something that i dont feel comfortable talkng about it but the demon kept sending messages in my thoughts that persuade me that God will make my fear come true which i fear!! Will God make my fear come true or does He love His chilldren and will protect me! Im scared! :(

i know it may be hard for some atheists because of social pressure. well, i must admit not too long ago i realized i was an atheist myself and i feel more free than before. sure, i lost my so called "faith" and it hit me a bit hard in the beginning but now that time has passed i feel like i didnt lose much. so has your experience as an atheist been????
