I have read the Bible three times and in all my readings I've never come across that.
I know of no viable source for that myth, and I know that there is no proof of it.

This is a myth based on historical tradition, not on actual history. Joseph of Arimathea provided the tomb for Jesus' burial, not a cup (the supposed Holy Grail) that caught his blood.
If you actually look at what was happening during the crucifixion, Jesus' body was surrounded by Roman guards and pharisaical leaders from the time the cross was strapped to his back on the Via Dolorosa to the time his body was taken down and prepared for burial. His followers would not have been allowed to get close enough (nor would they have wanted to) to "catch his blood" in a cup. Their world was completely falling apart and all chance for freedom from Rome was gone, in their eyes...this was not a time for them to get souvenirs. Their teacher, their rabbi, the Son of God was dying a cursed death that they didn't understand. They were just trying to keep from joining him on a cross (for being his followers) while trying to wrap their heads around what was going on.

The Asker just joined Yahoo/Answers today and has asked this question first in the History Category and then in the Religious Category. The answers are basically the same in both categories.
Clearly the question is not based on any facts but on the most extreme of myth and wishful thinking and that is his answer.

There's little to no proof of any of this, how can you possibly demand proof.
This is all the theory of the "Knights Templer" and they have the artifacts of the Crucifixion. I don't know what the possible idea everyone has that they should keep all this stuff in secrecy, why it should be kept secret.
The world would possibly rejoice to know that Jesus and his artifacts exist, it would rekindle the church and all it's followers so, is it a myth or fact, we'll never know. As for proof? you prove it isn't so.

Oh, please, get a grip! You have a nerve demanding proof for a myth. But as it happens I know a little known fact. He drank it! Yes, Joseph was one of the first vampires, and by drinking Jesus's blood he became immortal, which until then vampires were not. They got old and wrinkled and fat and died just like everyone else. So we have to thank him, or we would never have had that eternally hot and desirable and immortal Dracula and the world would have been a poorer place.

This is really not a history question but a religious one.
It is a question to which there can be no answer since there is no evidence that anyone ever "gathered the blood of Jesus"

in his mouth, he was in the desert and parched with nothing to drink so why not drink his blood it may give him powers. After he took the cup and probably hucked it in a pile of garbage after.
Id say after he drank it it went to his belly, then intenstines and then out the front end jusr rather red.
I do not need proof. You need to proove your self first, logic and science easily refutes all this as nonesence, becaise of I cannot beleive in Santa or the Easter Bunny I cetainly will not be dooped a third time.
So I bet he drank it or sold it for cash.

majority of His blood went down to the ground to cleanse the saints e.g. abraham, sarah, moses etc. such that the dead rose up and showed in town.
