I'm an atheist, and it's always super confusing when Christians accusingly claim that I believe in the Big Bang.

I really don't care if the universe was created by a Big Bang or not. Can someone explain Christian's fascination with atheists and the Big Bang? Or, maybe all of the other atheists are just different than me.

In short, do you think that scattered atheists like us have leverage over the superstitious mass? Or do you think that we´re just barking in the wind on our own?

I know not all woman are catholics that have abortions but i really think if religion helped prevent pregnancy then it would help decrease abortions..I'm just using catholicism as a example....I am prochoice...

My last question read:

"Would it be immoral if we knew people were suffering needlessly, and we did nothing to help even if we could?
Examples: children with diseases, earthquake victims, War in Darfur, etc."

Almost everyone answered that it would be immoral.


But it is certainly within God's power to help earthquake victims, children with diseases, children getting raped, tsunami victims, etc. Yet he does not.

So is God not immoral?




Please spare me all the "we have a lesson to learn" stuff. We can all learn those lessons just fine with out suffering children, earthquakes and disease.

And please spare me the "free will" stuff. I'm talking about natural disasters here. (Don't forget Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.)

One of the questions asking about the difference between an atheist and agnostic someone on there - Bob T or someone I don't know said Both are wrong. There is a God. He wants a relationship with each of His people. He is the Creator and the Source of truth. He is the Author of the Plan of Salvation. He is my Lord.

Why is this needed?

Who is to say that the bible is true other than your faith?

I am cool with faith - but it isn't proof - hands down PROOF. It is simply the truth for you. Why does it HAVE to be the truth for me as well?

Why is there always the line that needs to be crossed?

I have no problem really with Christians personally, or them praying for me. Everyone has a right to their religion and life path. But I still don't get and probably never will why some individuals feel that not only do they have the only ticket to spiritual salvation and to top it off they have to declare it out loud -

I want a real answer - not a bunch of Xtian bashing.

She's 14. She sleeps with anyboy she thinks is cute. She's in the "popular" crowd at school and that is amazing to her bccause she is a freshman. She mocks other kids that she doesn't like. She dressed like a **** to attract attention from other guys. She parties till all hours of the night and comes home super late but she puts on a "good girl" act for my parents. I'm torn wether or not to tell them. She is into paganism and stopped believing in God at 11. How can I help her out of sin and into a relationship with Christ?

my chinese culture and stuff require me to offer respect to my ancestor.

thats burning of incense paper and offering of joss stick during their death anniversary .

I found out that Fred Rogers was an ordained Presbyterian minister. I thought that he was an excellent example of using your faith in a very positive way. In fact, everything about Mister Rogers was positive. He never talked of hell or warned about making wrong choices or tried to scare people into believing.

Instead, he preached a very positive message in a non-preachy way. He taught people important things and he used his faith to make people comfortable with who they were.

Are there any othere ministers out there who are truly positive like Mister Rogers?
