To answer a question, a Christian must be let by the Holy Spirit. If their words are cited from the Bible the question would have a satisfactory answer. However because most of the bible was written by men inspired by the Holy Spirit; to understand the scriptures one should ask God in order to receive a revelation or understanding of their reading.

Another reason would be that they don't have the knowledge to give an answer but they would like to talk about it.

In my opinion, the people(read majority)who say they are Christians try so hard to get other people to believe they are right and everyone else is wrong that they come off sounding like a politician who believes his/her word is the only thing to believe in on any subject not just religion.

Some Christians are unfortunately not familiar enough with their own scriptures to provide authoritative answers to other people's questions. They are also not properly acquainted with scientific research and biblical scholarship. More careful study of the Bible itself, and of bible history, would enable them to give better witness to the faith they profess.

Everyone interprets their faith in a different way so we all have a different understanding of what is true. When there are so many branches to christianity how can we possibly help you when we can't even agree among ourselves?

One explanation is that each Christian is completely different, and we bring our own interpretations to issues.

If every Christian answered EXACTLY the same, we'd be accused of being like the Borg.

well, when you limit your argument for god to a book written 2000 years ago, you run into problems. especially when the book is factually inaccurate. yet, somehow, the book is the source of all truth. it's quite confusing, isn't it?
