I'm an atheist, and it's always super confusing when Christians accusingly claim that I believe in the Big Bang.

I really don't care if the universe was created by a Big Bang or not. Can someone explain Christian's fascination with atheists and the Big Bang? Or, maybe all of the other atheists are just different than me.

coz we're under the impression that you look to science more than religion... the big bang is the scientific theory on how the universe was created. yeah, your probably one of the atheists that aren't as, say, active.. like, just believe in no god, period. some advice from a freshman high school student- think of your immortal soul. im not saying you should go catholic, like, right now; but im saying that its not healthy to just rely on hedonism. you never actually know whats gonna happen when you kick the bucket. so, think about it

Atheists are a distinctive lot. that's extremely confusing to declare lots approximately them, different than, as a team, they do no longer have confidence in 'god'. To think of, besides the undeniable fact that, that anybody could 'worship' an concept is so far accessible as to be completely ludicrous. A concept is s conceptual framework which may be utilized in an attempt to be attentive to how issues artwork. that's a gadget, and not too a lot of human beings worship kit.

Good question. Probably no real answer. I also hate being told that I must be a "secular humanist" or whatever. Or that I have no spirituality or morals because I don't believe in a mono-theistic religion.

As a Buddhist (*and* an atheist) I believe that the question of how the universe came into being is irrelevant. Buddha said it's a question that diverts us from our own enlightenment during this lifetime. It certainly seems to divert us from any meaningful discourse on this forum.

Christians ask how the universe was created if not by god. The big bang is the only reasonable answer. I think it's a possibility but I don't know for sure that it's true and don't hardly worship it.

Some christains take the bible too literally, and they can forget the true meaning behind some of these stories in the bible. Some say if you don't believe God didn't create the "Heavens and the Earth" then you're not a Christain. I don't really know about Atheism accounting for all of it, because it's more like you're not a true Christain if you don't believe in this. There are other religions that believe different things. I myself am a christain that believed God guided the process of the Big Bang trillions of years ago, or more, who knows. Don't listen to those christains who accuse you about believing in the big bang, they're breaking one of their own rules by judging you.

The idea of worshiping something is so ingrained in their thinking that many Christians find it nigh impossible to imagine that there are people who don't worship anything, so they often falsely accuse atheists of worshiping the Big Bang, Darwin, Satan, or (more commonly) humanity.

People just make assumptions. Like lots of people think all Christians deny evolution. It's easier to generalize than take things on a case by case basis.

You can't say all Christians think that. I know many people just believe in nothing, or in other things, I don't know. But there will come a time in your life when you won't be satisfied with just living with no sense, like an animal or a plant does, and you will ask yourself what's the meaning of this world. Then you'll see there is only one answer, and to see it completely you gotta believe in it first.

yeah thats weird, although the big bang is more scientifically proven than adam and eve getting kicked out of heaven theory.

I am a Christian, and I believe the universe came from the hot big bang. I believe that is how God did it.
