Like the dead bodies on the battlefield, if they stop the bullets, then so be it!
Your body saves my body, buddy.

I was created because one December night, some years ago, my parents had sexual intercourse. Nine months later, there I was. I'm pretty sure my parents were created in the same way, and their parents, and so forth. That it took millions of years of evolution to arrive at this point is not necessarily a given, but makes more sense than the biblical fairy tales.
"Purpose in life" is whatever you make it. Some folks go through life without purpose, and they become presidents. I don't think about my "purpose," because I have no need to think about it. I do an important job (nurse), and I make a difference in the world and in many lives. If that constitutes "purpose," so be it.

It seems you think you're here to convert atheists to Christianity. If that's really your mission, try asking better questions, like "Atheists, what would it take to convert you to Christianity?"
But, seriously, you must have a better purpose in life, like to build roads or discover cures or help people or something--something better than just singing in the afterlife.
I'm an atheist, and I think that we weren't created, but that we were born. We were probably born as a result of two people giving into their sexual urges, rather than there being a whole grand scheme or anything.

If atheism is indeed the correct belief system:
there is no real purpose to life without passion. passion leads to hope, which ultimate gives a reason for morality. those without passion have the truest form of logic: apathy.
there is no meaning to life. however, each individual can declare one for their own life.
created? come now... atheists don't put stock in such things. that's why they're atheists. lol.

I don't think we were "created" other than our parents had sex.
As for the "purpose" of life...I don't think that there is some grand "higher" purpose. You make your own life have purpose. There are plenty of people in existence who have no purpose.

most would say children... i myself found my own purpose a long time ago, no matter how rediculous and unsound it may seem... something that gives you motivation and to dedicate yourself to is worth persuing.
A good purpose is always worth putting effort into as well, cause what's the point on a bad one? You'll only end up with bad results and people would generally look down on it, however a good one is always remembered.

Why would an omnipotent and omniscient being need to create us and test us out when He should know exactly how we are going to behave? He might as well have sent us straight to Heaven or Hell, since He would know what we would deserve before He created us.

There doesn't necessarily have to be a purpose to life - in the end, in my opinion, life is what you make of it. Living my life to be content and as decent a person as I can be is fulfilling enough for me.

Why do people think there has to be some higher purpose to existence? Why were aphids created? How about viruses? Why was cancer created?
