We change state or condition. The elements of our physical existence return to the atomic state and recombine into other things: mineral, vegetable, animal, or human. Atomically, our physical bodies endure eternally, but not as our individual selves. Reflecting that eternal physical existence, our reality, our self, our soul, rather than atomizing, continues its path intact, and the virtues we have developed during our physical existence determine its capacity to function in the realm of spirit, where we will associate with like souls. Obviously, it is in our best interests to develop spiritual capacity and virtues while in this earthly existence. Baha'u'llah's explanation resonates with me both intellectually and spiritually.

Here is the Bibles' answer;
(Ecclesiastes 9:5-6) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten. 6Â Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they have no portion anymore to time indefinite in anything that has to be done under the sun.
The dead remain 'asleep' until they are resurrected.
(Psalm 13:3) Do look [upon me]; answer me, O Jehovah my God. Do make my eyes shine, that I may not fall asleep in death,
(Revelation 20:12-13) And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and scrolls were opened. But another scroll was opened; it is the scroll of life. And the dead were judged out of those things written in the scrolls according to their deeds. 13Â And the sea gave up those dead in it, and death and Ha′des gave up those dead in them, and they were judged individually according to their deeds.
The 'deeds' are not what they did in their former lives, but how they react to waking up in God's new system
(Romans 6:23) For the wages sin pays is death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord.
Wages is full payment. so our death pays for our sins. No more debt.
So logically, no more punishment...of any sort.
It makes a lie out of the teaching of ''eternal punishment"

We can only hope that it's not any worse than living. I don't think there is anything after death, but that's my belief, not knowledge.
I would do everything I can to avoid it, but that's just me.
There's no way of knowing.

If you mean earthly living , it will be physical death. If you are referring to spiritual aspect of oneself, there is no limit - infinite lights, joy and wisdom.

Well, I at least have to give you credit for wording this question differently. Even though it gets asked dozens of times here every day.

well, according to the bible, previously to coming to earth Jesus was teaching in the spirit world. there is a paradise and a prison. it depends on how this person has lived their life to determine where they will go.

our body will turn back into dust . our spirit will live on,
back to our creator, Where righteous dwells, who seeks to live in peace, who seeks to be kind, who seeks to love,
who feeds the hungry. And who seeks in their mind and heart for that answer.
