Holy Book Quran enlightens on the issue:
3:19 Surely the only true faith in the sight of Allah is Islam (self surrender unto Him) And nor did those who were given the Book dissent therefrom till after true knowledge had come to them; (and this disputewas) on account of envy and spite among themselves. And whoso denies the Revelations of Allah, then Surely Allah is Swift at reckoning.
6:164 Say you: Shall I seek a Lord other than Allah, where He alone is the Lord of all things? And no person earns anything but it is on his own account; and no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another. Then to your Lord is your eventual return and He will inform you of that wherein you used to differ.
