Perhaps all of humanity had it coming. Perhaps all of humanity was even quite evil...... though I'm not sure that means "beyond redemption". Would you thank him for being a kind and loving god after he'd wiped out nearly all of human kind as you know it?

I'm not sure I could thank a deity like that even if he declares "I am right because I am right, and that's why this slaughter was right". Perhaps my moral compass is off. Perhaps it's due to my own shortcoming that I cannot see the goodness in mass genocide.

Can you?

(John 3:2) The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

(John 3:3) Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

(John 3:4) Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

(John 3:5) Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

(John 3:6) That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

(John 3:7) Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

Would there be any justification in his doing so?

For Christians -- Would you find it morally repugnant if your Heavenly Father slaughtered a thousand people? A million people?

Or is He ALWAYS justified in killing?

My nephew is 13 & he has started to have doubts about God. I'm a believer but I need to make him feel ok about his doubts because he's starting to feel guilty about having them. Can you give me any advice other than to tell him that it's ok to feel how he feels? Christians please no Bible quotes or anything, I'd like to hear if the others have felt guilt for having doubts & how they got over it.

Fascism is defined as the merger of the state with corporate interests and the intentional amalgamation of church and state.

Hitler did precisely that - colluded with the Catholic church and bragged he had rooted out atheism.

War is the statesmans game, the priests delight, the lawyers jest, the hired assassins trade. – Percy Bysshe Shelley

"In every country and in every age the priest has been hostile to liberty; he is always in alliance with the despot, abetting his abuses in return for protection to his own."- Thomas Jefferson

"Christianity...[has become] the most perverted system that ever shone on man....Rogueries, absurdities and untruths were perpetrated upon the teachings of Jesus by a large band of dupes and imposters led by Paul, the first great corrupter of the teaching of Jesus." - Thomas Jefferson

"History, I believe, furnishes no example of a priest-ridden people maintaining a free civil government." - Thomas Jefferson

I hear all the time that the LDS church is a "cult" because we worship Joseph smith instead of Jesus Christ. I want someone to prove to me that we worship Joseph SMith instead of Jesus Christ. and use our own words, from the scriptures, o from the Ensign magazine or talks from our current leaders. Don't go to anti-Mormon sites, like ex-mormons, CARM, IRR, MRM, or wahtever.

Honest, Practical, Humanatarian, Peaceful and loving people. I have read both the Bible and Quran therefore it is quite strange for me to see Atheists being close to the lives and qualities Jesus and Muhammed then the theists.

Jesus once said "My friends, what good is it to say you have faith, when you don't do anything to show that you really do have faith? Can that kind of faith save you? If you know someone who doesn't have any clothes or food, you shouldn't just say, "I hope all goes well for you. I hope you will be warm and have plenty to eat." What good is it to say this, unless you do something to help? Faith that doesn't lead us to do good deeds is all alone and dead"

Muhammed once said "Do not say, that if the people do good to us, we will do good to them; and if the people oppress us, we will oppress them; but determine that if people do you good, you will do good to them; and if they oppress you, you will not oppress them."

Life is funny,So what are your opinions?

Every few days someone cites a scientific-sounding name, then you go look it up, and it was setup a few months ago by Answers in Genesis or whatnot so AIG can cite themselves without sounding like they're citing themselves.

Where can I get a full list of such publications?
