It is true that Hitler was a Christian (table talk and all the other crap people try to use to claim he was otherwise just don't stand up) but most Christians unlike Hitler are better than their religion so very few of them are actually fascists (although then again, not many of them take their religion very seriously anyway).
Benevolent fascism is a bit of an oxymoron anyway.

I would like to point out that Goebbels was an atheist and many in Hitler's cabinet were atheists, so he definitely did not "root out atheism"; secondly, hitler's "Table Talk" shows him ranting in private about how "bad" Christianity is (and which do you trust more, a man's public statements or his private ones, especially when he is a propogandist?).
Further, atheist Stalin et al in Soviet Russia killed far more people than magic-loving occultist Hitler (Stalin alone 20 million people). Compare this to the deaths caused by the Crusades & the Inquisition ***together***, and atheism still receives a higher death count.
I would also like to point out that Hitler had secret plans to destroy the Catholic Church, and was often heard to rant that Christianity was a "plot from the Jews" sent to give the Jews a leg up by valuing the poor and weak.
Get your history right. While you are entitled to your own opinion, you are not entitled to your own facts.
Finally, last but not least, the USA's Constitution, with its freedom of religion in the 1st amendment, traces back its ideology to Christianity this way: Constitution inspired by John Locke, Locke from Lex Rex, Lex Rex written by Rutherford, who was a Christian theologian taking his ideology from the Bible. All of this information is widely available in normal history books, and even more so on the internet.

You keep citing primarily one man's opinion, a "known" slave owner, who spoke in an attempt to discredit the entire Christian fellowship because he knew what he did was wrong. Jefferson had his own problems he needed to work out...he should have concentrated on himself.
Hitler was not a Christian, he was an occultist...
Bible believing Christians who believe Christ's teaching do not want a human governmental theocracy. We don't want a government that forces the entirety of our beliefs. Because that is not faith, and not true belief.
Islam is a theocratic religion, Christianity is not. Jesus Christ is the King of Kings...When Christ returns, it will "be" God's Kingdom, that is what we wait for, not some flawed human shadow of it where abuses and errors of judgment would certainly occur as in any government.
If you believe that we Christians shouldn't vote freely as any other group of individuals in a manner that is consistent with our faith then you are being hypocritical. We vote against abortion because we believe it is murder. Others vote for it because they believe a fetus is not a human baby until it is out of the womb. You bet we are going to vote against that, and if we have the majority, it will be made illegal. This is the democratic process. It doesn't interfere with a person's choice to engage in sex, it would require they deal with the consequences of their actions, but it does not infringe on their rights to choose how to act, or their right to practice their own religion, or not practice any religion.
Our government is representative of the people who live in the country, and yes we Christians will vote for statesmen/women who support our views, just as you do.
If Christians have their way, then there will be more laws respecting life, and more laws that are based on Christian morality. If secularists have their way, the very mention of God in public settings or government facilities would be illegal. We will always vote to counter this ideology of faithlessness, but that is why we have representatives for every group...so that we can vote and see who gets the win.
And benevolent fascism is certainly better than malevolent socialism or malevolent communism...but we live in a republic, so no need to worry. You have your right to vote your way and we have the right to vote our way. If you don't get what you want, then you just have to try harder through the political process just like anybody else.

I do understand the reasons for your question, but in all reasonable 'realities' the whole edifice of the 'Roman Church' was constructed out of, and wholly for the benefit of, a much less than 'benevolent' form of Fascism.
If one understands the basic root of 'fascismo' as per Benito Mussolini, it was an attempt to restore the 'Glory that was Rome', complete with all of the symbols and imagery, even down to the SPQR ( meaning the senate and the people of Rome ) on the standards. It was, as you suggest, a marriage of church and state. A marriage forged in some Dantesque 'Inferno', and so 'charmed' the piddling little Adolf Hitler, that he adopted and espoused Mussolini's warped fantasy. The Nuremburg gatherings in the 1930's bear testament to this.
Jefferson was a great man, and a visionary, brave for his time. To stand up and be counted over 200 years ago on the issue of the fraud perpetrated on the people of the world by this monstrosity of Paul and Constantine took great courage, these vultures were still burning 'heretics' at that time. All in the name of 'Love' !
What we see today with the emergence of the 'Neocon' group, and the 'New American Century' is a blind, bumbling idiocracy destined to end it's days in much the same ignominy as did both Mussolini and Hitler.
Unfortunately, their almost absolute control of the mass media means that they do have the power to control the mind of the average American, who is blinded by their bombastic barrage of 'patriotism', the same b*llsh*t which drew the German people to their almost utter destruction three quarters of a century ago.

Just wait until you see the coming fascist one world government, which will terrorize the earth, murder billions, take away all your rights, and have Christianity outlawed and the only churches will be underground churches.
