When there is a financial need yes.

Its tragic when one family in a church is about to evicted because the bread winner lost a job when there are other familes in the church with money to spare, which God gave them to that they COULD be a BLESSING to the others.

There is a several hundred need which I know about right now and its makes me sick to know that no one has offered to help yet.

If you want to help let me know.

I think we should... but it would be a lot more difficult to do now that Christians are spread around the World. There are simply too many now to do that correctly.

But that is why Churches have tithes, food banks, clothing banks, etc... So that they can share their good fortune and wealth with less fortunate Christians.

If you really think this is the way you want to live your life, I would suggest you check out the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons). In my opinion they live as closely as possible to what you are talking about.

In fact their doctrine is almost exactly like what is described in Acts.

Have fun exploring, and don't believe the people that tell you that Mormons aren't Christians. =)

Indeed Bethybug! The church grew mightily during this first era of Christianity. Millions of people come to know Christ as their personal Savior. House churches were quite popular during this time. The church was not as open or visible due to persecution. Believers met in homes and went from house to house.

I would love for Christians to be this way. I think we have strayed so far away from how the eary church use to relate to one another. It seems like we are interested in getting for ourselves and hoarding instead of sharing like Jesus wants us to. Not one Christian should be homeless or hungry (I was both). God has given us all more than enough and we need to share what we have in all areas of our lives.

Yep. And it wouldn't look much like "church" as we understand it, either. We've gone off in a totally different direction from what the Bible intended.

If we're not involved with Christian friends and family members on a daily basis, we're making things harder on ourselves than they have to be.

I think the key is what had just taken place - they had all been filled with the Holy Spirit and their conduct was the natural outcome of that experience. I think when the Church once again gets as filled with the Holy Spirit as the early believers these things will once again be the spontaneous result.

The world would be a better place if we all shared our food and possessions...people would not go without. Instead, we horde our possessions and people do go without. How to change this?...

Personally, yes, I do think that we should be doing that. Many people wouldn't agree with me, but I think we should be seeing one another in small groups each day. I think we should be helping one another by pooling our resources. When I have too much food, my neighbor may not have enough. I should share. If I have time to watch children, and my neighbor does not. I should offer my time to help. We should always help others when we are able to do so.

Church families would be a lot closer if we did.

Remember...think of your time with other Spirit filled believers as banquets..... would you prefer one meal a week, or once a day?

As for sharing possessions...isn't that why He has given us what we have? to be stewards of His possessions?

Yes, I feel that fellowship together is one of the biggest parts of the church. Sadly not to many do it as the disciples did. Their church grew daily, and we wonder why ours don't. Good question, and God Bless.
