And do you go to Sunday school? If you do, is your class studying something specific right now or do ya'll talk about different things every week? Is your worship service traditional or contemporary?

I'll be the first: Yes, I am going. I attend a mixed worship service that is both traditional and contemporary. We are studying Spiritual warfare in my Sunday school.

And what's your religion?

(By the way, if someone believes there is life on other planets, does that transgress religious faith?...)

Why do people force things to be censored, or books taken off shelves, just because they don't like it? Wouldn't it be easier just to not read or watch the offending material? I mean, just because someone doesn't want their kid reading Harry Potter doesn't mean my kid shouldn't be allowed to.

Wouldn't someone banning a book I read be like me getting the Bible banned? It's exactly the same thing, and just as wrong--but I'd never think of banning the Bible just because I don't agree with it. So what's the purpose if not for personal attention?

In my devotion today it says :
Every instance of this selfishness must weaken the evidences of a man's conversion
and I am 56 and the world as individuals overall seem so so selfish to me, and I also think society causes it by trying to rip them off. But I think we need to heed this verse from 1 John 3:16, what do you think ?

I had one with all my clothes one in a John Bradshaw seminar on "The Homecoming"! The method involved sharing grief by moment regressing with present day non judgemental witnesses, active listenning, empathy, sympathy and affirmation!

20 seconds into the affirmation I felt it and wow. I couldn't take it any more, so I said stop. And from this experience and my life as it has been, I gave it a name, and it has been my religion ever since. It is a very healing feeling that comes with this. I can't imagine anyone choosing drugs or adultery or any sins of a material sense, above this.

I have wondered how many people have had this happen to them and or would be interested in it? Most I meet are stuck on their worrying about heaven and hell in traditional church settings and kinda stuck there. Some I witness are caught up in adulterous and bisexual situations. I wonder how this would have worked out for them?

Healing be unto you

Mithra was a persian mythological figure that was born on the winter solstice (December 25) and traveld to various towns healing the sick and giving advice. He was crucified and three days later was resurrected on the Pagan holiday of Easter. The truly weird thing about this finding is the story of Mithra is dated back to 12th century BCE.

What are your thoughts on this subject?

I will post a few links in additional details in just a moment.

To me this seems ridiculous, because we are talking about the same God here, in the Old Testament and the New Testament, right. So, why wouldn't God say, hey the Jews should be more like the Christians or vice versa? The differences in religions and beliefs makes the idea of a God seem a little ridiculous.

Is it possible that the junk dna in animals is to be used to fulfill the scripture isaiah 11:6-9 and isaiah 65:25 so that when Jesus comes back they are transformed and us along with them.

6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.
9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

(Old Testament | Isaiah 11:6 - 9)

i say no because the Bethlehem story is a jewish midrashic creation. let me explain

i believe that jesus was born in egypt. However the gospel writers tried to fullfill the promise that isaiah made to the jews which says
to you a saviour will be born in the city of david

so the gospel writers created a story how joseph kept the heavily pregnent mary on a donkey and travelled to jerusalem which is about 70 km. no pregnent woman would have survived that journey

but in order to fulfill the prophesy jesus had to be born in a town in jerusalem

but does it matter if jesus was born in bethlehem or egypt?
to me it matters not one wit

to me what matters is how jesus can inspire people through his love
