Let me say this, I am not in the slightest bit religious, but i believe a man we call Jesus lived. He was not the son of a god as god does not exist.

Jesus does not allow priests, pastors and parsons to pose about in his name. it is the chief leaders of the church that allow this....it is laughable isn't it? And then they wonder why so many people are leaving the church and that people like me will never, ever want to be christian.

So that the Scriptures might be fulfilled, just like why Jesus allowed Judas to be one of his 12 Apostles.
Acts 1:16 "Brothers, the Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke beforehand by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus.
2 Timothy 4:1 I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: 2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. 3 For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, 4 and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.
2 Peter 2:1 But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3 And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.

While some of the clergymen are actually legit, others are corrupt.
He's just giving the corrupt ones time to prove themselves unworthy, and letting them judge themselves guilty, them, and all those who follow them. Without proper education nobody can see the truth. It's up to the individual to get educated, and the information is available for those who seek it. But if they think they don't need anything (because some smug pastor tells them so) they will be in for a rude awakening.

Oh, but Jesus did warn us about them!
Mat 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
and again:
Mat 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
Mat 24:25 Behold, I have told you before.
Those of us who were paying attention have been expecting them, so they don't really distract us very much...they just make it a bit more difficult for us to reach folks, is all.

I think a better question might be "why does Jesus allow pedophile priests access to young altar boys???"

They'll get theirs.
These individuals may think they're getting away with something but they're grievously mistaken. Nobody gets away with anything.
