strange, but I just watched a study. The states that have passed laws to remove God from schools. Strange, these same schools were the ones were multiple killing took place.

Secular, small-scale "organic", "sustainable", "free range" (etc) farmers routinely transcend commercial / industrial standards and ethics. Would it be reasonable to assume clergy would be on par with these secular operators?

Are the monks evading the criticism by attempting to focus public attention on PETA tactics? Are the monks just making excuses by blaming third-party standards?

Is it ironic that the monks are vegetarians?

Disclaimer: I'm not necessarily a fan of PETA practices; this question is NOT about PETA.

(Unsure of best category for this question, so it has been asked in more than one.)

R&S and my job tends to drain mine rather quickly. So, I am going camping next week in the Northern Woods of Wisconsin. No Internet, no cellphones, no electricity, and most importantly no R&S. Just me, my daughter and the great outdoors.

We argue. We belittle. We quote and print in caps our rants. Nevertheless, when a question asking for help in a catastrophy is asked there are those that come to together in sending help and hope.

Yeah, you made an old man cry, but I'm damned proud of y'all.

I have been a very nieve person lately not because I am a bad person only because I am an unhappy person. Is it wrong to have strong feelings in your heart for someone. I don't know how to deal with things anymore. Please help me find the truth I am looking for. I don't want to loose the love for the people I want in my life. It seems like I am not even myself anymore but I can't get rid of the feelings I have in my heart for someone I care deeply about. I have tried to ask people in the network to help me but I only get hurt. Am I such a bad person for feeling this way? I have my faith and believe in it but sometimes life is so confusing I forget about it.What can I do to have what I most desire in life and make all the bad things go away. I'm desperate. I can't eat or sleep please help me. All I know is Love in my heart that I can't let go of.No matter how wrong it is or right it is . Please bless me more than I already am. I need someone to love me for who i am.

Marriage is just so much fun, but I don't want all the commitment that sex entails. Is it okay for me to just get married without sleeping around first? I know that this seems immoral and against the standards of our culture, but it's what I want.

I don't have a bible or the slightest idea of where to look if I did.

Could you please put the quote if you know it, and where you found it? Or if you know just general information you can put that. Thanks!

I am a Christian, but I am having really strong doubts about Christianity, I do not like the christianity concept of hell torment for non belivers, I do not like that you are pretty much forced to accept Jesus not to burn in hell. I find it horrible.
I am not sure if the jewish religion, can you tell me more? Where do I start?

I wont quote much scripture on this question, but there's one verse in the Bible that strikes me as particularly relevant to the topic at hand: "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands" (Psalm 19:1-3). I've stood at the tops of mountains, I've stared at the vast firmament of the sky from the middle of the ocean, and I've seen lots of things in between. There's a sense of awe, a sense of wonder at the majesty of (what I believe to be) creation. I know I'm not the only one that feels it. So how did we evolve that awe, that appreciation? And more importantly, is all of the beauty we see in this world merely a result of some haphazard seeding of proteins and amino acids, with no rhyme or reason? To answer "yes" seems wrong on a visceral level, wouldn't you say?

Just curious because I'm married with two kids and when we have my parents over at our house, my parents insist on having a family prayer. We'll be into our second or third bite of food and my parents will sit there and refuse to eat until we pray. I am not a Christian anymore and my parents know that (and they know we don't want to teach the kids Christianity) but they still ask all of us to pray with them before they eat. My husband and I do not pray with my parents but we'll stand there and listen to the grace and we let the kids pray along with them if they want (that bugs me but I can't stop my kids from doing what they want). I always feel insulted that we should be expected to say grace. I don't mind if they say a prayer on their own but to ask us all of us to do it before we eat? Isn't that rude since it's my own house and I'm not religious?

Despite claims to the contrary, Jesus bones haven't been found yet. So if Jesus wasn't God (and most Christians believe that He was), wouldn't archealogical digs have unearthed his remains by now? I understand that it's not incumbent upon atheists to defend why Jesus remains haven't been found, but I find it curious the fate of such a major historical figure, so major that our calendar is divided into before-he-was-born, and after-he-was-born, still remains shrouded (no pun intended) in mystery...?

The gospels of mark, matthew, luke and john were written many decades after Jesus' birth. Also they were written in greek which wasn't the language used in the Biblical lands in the time of Jesus. On a further note, the gospels all give different accounts of Jesus' life, which one should you believe.
