The word pagan did not even exist in an english context until the king james version of the bible, and it was never in the origin al versions of the book. Originally the word Pagan somes from the latin "paganus" which means country-dweller, and did not originally have a religious context at all. It was used as a somewhat slang term by the romans to descibe the people who lived in the rural areas around Rome, outside of the cities. It did not gain a relligious context until the 4th century. Christianity spread faster in the cities than it did in the rural areas, thus the slang term used for the people living in those rural areas became used as a religious context for people who were not Christian. Neither the word witch or pagan showed up until the rewrite of the bible by King James. The original english context of pagan showed up somewhere in the 17th century, where it continued to take on a similar definition as the word heathen, someone who is not christian. King James, suffering from paranoia felt that witches and pagans were out to get him. The modern definition of the term pagan is a collection of primarily earth-based faiths and religions that are not Abrahamic, Dharmic, or Taoic is origin or basis, primarily indo-european, african, and mesopotamian. Many, but not all pagan religions are polythiestic.
Most Pagans do not worship idols, they do not worship statues of things, they worship some form of higher power. There are dozens of pagan religions, each with a different view of the divine in some way. Pagans do not worship, make sacrifices to, or pacts with demons or the devil. Most pagans do not even believe in the existance in the christian devil.
So no, the word Pagan is not in the bible, despite what others have said, as it did not show up until the 17th century durring the rewrite of the bible by King James. King James altered parts of the bible, and removed many texts he did not agree with,

The bible is prejudice book written by men fearful of things that they don't understand. The pagan religion has been around since the dawn of time. The early church killed alot of pagans because they wouldn't convert or they played upon their supersticious minds and told them about a non-existant place called hell. SO they filled the pews and the church filled their coffers. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being a pagan. It seems to me like you are looking to put out more negative press about people that you don't know anything about. If did know any true pagaqns you wouldn't be looking to put out negative press and be judgemental or try to make pagans look like they are ignorant or dangerous or simple minded. You probably know a pagan if you fell over him or her. If anybody is pagan it's you christians . You are the new age religion. and a bloody one at that.

I have most of my study from the King James Version Bible and it actually doesn't have the word "pagan" in it, but the same thing is in Bible language for "heathen" and there are so many mentions about them, that I would have to just list the books in the Bible that mention the "heathen". It means in general, those who do not recognize or know the true living God, but worship nature or statues that represent their version of some Deity(s), or idolatry or false gods or, in general, those peoples and nations who have forsaken Jehovah God, their Creator; these are the pagans, the heathen. God refers to them as "dead men", "lost souls" "unbelievers". Of course, anyone from those categories can hear about the One, True God and accept His redemption and BE a believer and God will accept and love him and give him His name and call him His child.
Micah 5:15 (quote) "I will execute vengeance in anger and fury upon the heathen/pagan, such as they have not heard."
That's about the gist of it! And generally it is because they persecute God's children.

The Bible is against worshiping any God other than the one true God. The pagan influence of Christianity has been handed down through tradition, but is not endorsed by the Bible. The only reason it exists is because Constantine was a pagan worshiper when he developed his Catholic Church. The Catholic church has influence all of the churches today. The trinity however, is Biblically supported, and has no link to paganism.

Jesus Christ, having noted the faith and righteousness of a Roman centurion, a Pagan, proclaimed:
"Assuredly I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel! And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." (Matthew 8:10-12)

What it says, is some really old information on ancient branches of the pagan religion that do not reflect on all pagans (orgies, sacrifices, etc). These are not practiced anymore. Therefore, I do not believe the bible to be the most accurate way to judge such a religion, as it has been so reformed. Good luck!

Are you really going to believe what the bible has to say about Pagans? Christianity took over Pagans by force and abuse and labeled them as devil worshipers to scare others into converting to Christianity. Do implore you to research Pagans yourself and the history of Christianity (not from the bible or Christian propaganda) to decide for yourself.

Cydney... best way is if you went to someplace like http://www.BibleGateway.com
and looked it up.... or, you can download a free online Bible by typing in online bible download in search and choosing one...can also download a Torah and other different types of Bibles....unfortuanately, Paganism covers a wide spectrum of all the "do nots" in the Bible so for us to list all the verses would be a trial in itself
Peace be with you :)
