Christianity has a long tradition of setting up hospitals and many of the ethics in the New Testament are sound.

I should qualify this answer by saying I'm an atheist.

St. Francis Methodist School in Singapore
Methodist Grammar School, Ibadan, Nigeria
United Methodist Central Primary School, Sierra Leone
Kawizi Primary Refugee School, Democratic Replublic of the Congo
Refuge Baptist School, Ghana
Fr. Gale Secondary School, Uganda

These are from a quick google search. You could find others if you're really interested. If you want to know what some of the good things are that are being done by the United Methodist church, google UMCOR. I'm sure there are similar agencies in other churches.

one thing I know off hand, is shelters for the poor.
Christians children's fund to feed the poor in other countries
also there is a Christian university, I think in Colorado?
Man,...all kinds of stuff...

not hard to figure out, just turn on the TV. Mad men have built everything destructive. They were not real Christians if they did claim to be.

P.S. do you know of anything Atheists have built to better mankind? They were the cause God was taken out of schools, and now look at all the problems that go on in the schools that first removed God from schools.

The basis of a Christian foundation needs to come from within the individual, not be built of stone, or made into a structure. Followers of Christ are supposed to live by the message of loving one another, and that is it. That encompasses many things. It does not mean who donates the most money, who builds the buildings, who chairs the events, it is all within our hearts. Love is the greatest gift and does only good. If we all were to love one another as we love ourselves, or let me be even more frank, follow the golden rule "treat others as you would have them treat you", would the world by in general disarray as it is now?

Notre Dame University, for one. The hospital in Hinsdale, Illinois, for another, as well as many others. Not to mention a considerable collection of fine art and music. This does not justify the unjustifiable flaws in Christian belief -- it merely shows that it is an ill wind indeed that blows no good.

Actually my home church, Calvary Chapel Ft. Lauderdale is building a school right now as I type. They're also building a bigger sanctuary because once the rapture happens a lot of unbelievers are going to be flocking to the churches. They will be called the tribulation saints. Read Scripture, it's all in there.

BTW....when Hurricane Katrina hit, it was the churches who came to their aid first.

Jerry Falwell's Liberty University!!!

Seriously though, Christians have done plenty of good things for humanity... for example, many of the groups that do the most for Africa are Christian groups, and many hospitals are Christian hospitals.
