A husband a wife rent an apartment and have two school aged kids. Let's say, the family sold a possession and received a considerable amount of money for it, let's say, $3,500. The wife wants the husband to use the money to pay off debt he accrued prior to their marriage, so that they may be able to raise his credit rating and be in a better position to purchase a home.

The husband desires to use the money to put towards the purchase of hunting equipment for his upcoming hunting trip, and whatever is leftover, he will use to pay on the credit card debt he owes. The estimated amount that will be the balance after the husband makes his purchases will be about $400.

So obviously the woman is the voice of logic and reason in this scenario, but what is proper for her to do as a religion follower with a man lacking in common sense? Should she blindly submit to his selfish desires when they have a family to consider, and he is the one with the debt that needs resolution?

thumbs down can I get for saying this I wonder?

A lot of Christians/other religious types say they don't believe in Witches. Does that mean we don't exist? If that's the case, if the Witches say you don't exist, do you cease to exist also?

Just checking on the logic behind it all.

he employs 3 active Jehovah's Witnesses. Since these three individuals would consider him apostate and bad associationif they knew his religious past, and since JWs are not to associate with those who've left "The Organization," here are a few questions that arise:

1 - Should the JWs quit their jobs since they're not to have anything to do with apostate ex-JWs??
2 - How should they conduct themselves during their annual reviews? Should they shun their boss and not make eye contact?
3- Should they refuse their annual increase?
4 - Should he fire them?

If Adam and Eve sinned why is it that we have to suffer in child bearing?,....what does eating a apple have to do with hiding our private parts and having terrible child bearing pains?,.......why is this sin so emphasised on or genitals?, or was there something else going on in the garden that would cause us to cover our private parts?, why would we feel ashamed of our private parts if we only ate a dumb apple or a fruit?. How can a fruit tree be good and evil??

I used to be really religious and planned on saving myself for my future spouse. But now I'm an atheist. Anyway, I was wondering if I should wait till marriage anyway, I think I would perfer that. But I don't know if the person I am dating would get frustrated. Should I just get in bed if my girlfriend asks? I'm so confused. And I'm 18.

I am again amazed at the answers protestants have given today regarding practices of the Catholic Church. I see this all the time and its always the same old tripe: "it was an invention of the dark ages", or "they follow pagan holidays", or something along those lines. Have you ever studied early Christian writings from the first 3 or 4 centuries, by men such as Clement of Rome, Irenaeus, Tertullian, Ignatius of Antioch, Clement of Alexandria, Origen, and others? Did you know that there are hundreds of protestant ministers (yes, ministers) who say that there conversion to the Catholic faith was cemented by reading the writings of these early christians? Do you study such things, or do you just parrot what you read in poorly written anti-Catholic tracts? If you read these ancient texts, you may be in for the surprise of your life when you find out that the first Christians believe what Catholics believe today.

If you believe that there is even the most remote "possibility" that God does exist, then isn't it "possible" that the Bible was inspired by God, and is true?

We Christians cannot prove God's existence without any doubt to those who don't believe, because it is by faith in Jesus Christ we are saved, and if by faith in Him we are saved, there will be no absolute proof of God, which would in effect, do away with that need for faith.

What I have learned about the evolutionary theoretical process has simply reinforced my faith in God...and it has also changed the mind of some scientists who were once Atheists.

Part 3. If there is the "possibility" of God existing, and there is the "possibility" that the Bible was inspired by God, then keeping an open mind, have you ever read the Bible while focusing on these possibilities?

Reading the Bible without the premise of the Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent, and All loving God who is Holy and purely Good inspiring it is counterproductive.

That within Islam, Christianity and Judaism, there are varying...yet undeniable degrees of blatent misogyny and contempt for women all throughout the religious texts and teachings?

There is not a man alive that was not born from a woman. There is not a woman alive that has born a child, that did not nourish it from her life force and physical body for so many months until his birth. Such a contribution to life and humanity from the woman, and yet, I see references to women as "dogs", or "like" dogs, in Islam and Christianity.

Does this strike you as improper, disrespectful and cruel in any way?

How do you feel knowing that this stance of looking at the female as a "lesser" creature is well documented in every one of these beliefs, in some way?

Please note, I am not criticizing your beliefs, I am merely pointing out the obvious. If it is not too much to ask, how do you justify your participation in such a belief with little regard for you as a female?

And to everyone who brought it up in the last question...

Yes of course science changes it's mind on things over time, but it doesn't entirely discard things.

Einsteinian physics don't invalidate Newtonian physics, they just give a more ACCURATE picture.

Science evolves and gets closer and closer to an accurate description of reality with time.

I have no faith. When I sit in a chair I have a hope and a reasonable expectation that the chair won't fall over. This is not faith, it is hope. I don't KNOW that the chair won't fall over, nor do I BELIEVE that it won't fall. I simply think that it is less probable based on my experience with chairs.

This is called the scientific method, not faith.

When I sit beside a dying friend I tell them I hope they will get better. I also tell them I love them. But I don't give them false promises that can't be kept like, "everything will be alright." It would be arrogant and assumptive to say so.

This is in addition to the question of Why Faith? I guess what I'm trying to get at, is why do we have to have faith in god or belief in god (in order to go to heaven)? Why is that the only way to get into heaven? Because he said so? Why isn't being a good person enough? Why has god (or the folks who wrote it down) set it up this way?

I am an atheist. I really don't believe in a god or gods. I am just trying to understand why faith and belief is so important for folks to get into heaven (not that I think there is one, but nonetheless). Or is it that one cannot exist without the other? But then another question arises, if god is an absolute truth, then whether you believe or not doesn't mean anything, because heaven will exist regardless?

Please don't take offense. Sorry for the ramble, I hope that made sense. I am just trying to get some solid answers.
