On your list, Carl Sagan. I also admire Baruch Spinoza. The consequences of Spinoza's system also envisage a God that does not rule over the universe by providence, but a God which itself is part of the deterministic system of which everything in nature is a part. Thus, God is the natural world and has no personality. This is categorized as neutral monism, but is equivalent to atheism as what he believes in is nature, which is not a creator god or a personal involved god.

Sorry, can't come up with just one. It's a tie between:

Isaac Asimov (outstanding scientist and writer)
Carl Sagan (another great scientist and writer)
Irving Berlin (gotta love those tunes)

Dang, that's a good list. I'm stuck between Teller and Carl Sagan.

But howcum you don't have Albert Einstein (probably more agnostic, or theist, admittedly), or Jon Stewart on there?

It's an impressive list, but I'd have to go with Carl Sagan.

You listed Teller but left out my actual favorite, Penn Gillette, also of Penn and Teller!

I'm afraid I have to officially say my wife. But of your list - I LOVED Carl Sagan.

I think I might want to add Isiah Berlin to it. I'll see if I can think of any more.

EDIT

Stephen Jay Gould
György Lukács
Rosa Luxemburg

My first thought was Elie Wiesel, but after looking at your list I guess I have to go with Asimov.
