...why don't "real" or "true" christians put a stop to their practices or at the very least go and "whitness" to them on how they are not really following Christ?

Remember the KKK was made up allmost entirely of white conservative Protestant Christians. The ones who seem to mostly vote Republican today and then tell us about their great family moral values while on this website preach hatred, half truths, and bigotry especially towards Roman Catholics. These people are too busy in their churches patting themselves on the back telling each other what good Christians they are to be fighting against the KKK.

Because Good and Evil, Truth and Deception have been at war with each other since the beginning of time. Christians, just as any religion, cannot stop the practices, thoughts, and beliefs of an organization....no matter how ignorant. And besides, the KKK isn't an organization just for "real" Christians to oppose....it's an organization for everyone with human decency (regardless of religious preference) to oppose.

Well, I figure it would be waste of time to "witness" to them. They believe they're following "true" Christianity, and it's all but impossible to argue with "logic" like that. Believe me, I've tried.

And many Christians DO speak out against the KKK. But what are we supposed to do? It's not like the KKK is exactly public anymore. Sure, they hold parades...but people protest that, don't they? How are we supposed to put a stop to them? All we can do is educate people and hope it dies out.

uhhhh

We are doing that obviously... It isn't a religious issue is it? No, it is a social issue. If a bunch of people WANT to believe that white is better than black, how on earth are you going to stop that?

We are a country of laws. I do not have the right to go out an lynch people that do not agree with me.

The real world isn't simple, like some childrens book. It is complex and solutions take time. People do not change their opinions quickly and almost never publically.

Atheist people put way to much time into discussing things that they do not believe, why not go convince the KKK not to believe in God and see if that stops the problem. Of course it will not and of course you know that, but it is easier to blame the "Christian" religion like an overly simplistic fool, than to discuss real solutions and implement real ideas.

Ok.....So, like what "Good" do U Think that would do??? They just like many "Religions" have the "Word of God" in their "Hot Little Patty Cakes" Already!!! Most People find it "Easy" to "Judge Others" but NOT Themselves!!! "Evil" is in ALL of Us, we just "Display it Outwardly" in many different ways!!! There are 2 Sides to every Coin, right??? Lets look at the Other Side of this one shall we??? How about the "Black Leaders" in this Country who have founded Just as Hateful Organizations Bent on "Punishing the White Man" no matter that they have had No Involvement in "Slavery"??? In Christ we are All the Same!!! Yet some of the "LOUDEST PROTESTERS AGAINST WHITES" are the "Reverends Jessie & Al" who are "USING the BLACK COMMUNITY" to "KEEP ALIVE the HATRED"!!! If they were "True Christians", wouldn't they give up their "Fancy Lifestyle", roll up their "Sleeves" & start helping the Community locally??? They seem to Forget that by the Grace of God, the "Tribal Leader" sold their forefathers into Slavery allowing them to now live in FREEDOM!!! U know they could be back in Africa, Ignorant, Starving & Dodging Bullets right now!!! BTW, why don't They Go to these War Torn Countries & lead them into the "Good Life"??? So U see Kiddo, as much as Both U & I would like to "Change things with a Big Hammer", remember, god is IN Control, & He keeps "Score". John

There are many Christians who do vehemently and strongly oppose the KKK and speak out against them at every opportunity.

What more would you have them do? Kill them for not being 'true' Christians?

Why should opposing the KKK be the sole providence of Christians, just because the KKK claim to be Christian themselves?

Personally, I think we all have a responsibility to point out the idiocy and faulty logic behind the KKK philosophy, regardless of what our metaphysical beliefs are.

Many Christian writers such as Richard Abanes have worked hard to expose the wrongfulness of Klan cultic doctrines, hatred, and violence. Not one Christian denomination or organization recognizes this cultic hate group as Christian. All that I know of speak against it. How do you know that individual Christians do not witness to Klanspeople? What is your source for this? The effort to saddle Christians with guilt by association with the Klan is invalid. Just because a cult quotes from the Bible does not mean they are Christians. If one wants to play guilt by association, atheists will be saddled with the horrific crimes against humanity committed by Stalin and Mao. While the Klan are certainly not Christian in their beliefs or practices, Stalin and Mao were both atheists. Should we consider all atheists guilty of their crimes? I know I would not because this would be poor logic, something the atheists on Y/A do not seem to have a good grasp of. I add this guilt by association fallacy to the long list of other fallacies displayed here by atheists daily (such as the "begging the question" fallacy you are guilty of when you say "If the KKK are primarily Christians"). I really doubt if more educated atheists such as Richard Dawkins would display such poor reasoning powers.

You know, they aren't the only hate group which hides behind religion! There are many! Too many! Look at the skinhead movement! They choose atheism to hide behind!

Even so, all one can do is to plant seeds of witnessing. We, as Christians, are not out to change minds as no person has that power over anyone! We are out to do what Christ ask us to do! Witness, love our enemies, use compassion and love one another as Christ loves us!

In as much, it is the Lord's business after we do what we can! Even so, there will always be hatred as man's heart will never be sin free! Not even, we Christians! For, "we all sin and fall short of the glory of God." The difference, at least for me, is when I recognize my sins, I truly am convicted and I do ask for forgiveness. They people hiding behind religion...they do not see their actions as evil! They are more blind spiritually then most. Why? They choose to be! Many want to stay blinded to the truth! It is a comfort zone for many. It is sad but, it is fact.

By the way, in my opinion, if the KKK truly believed and were sticking to God's rules...they would not be a hate group!

Can one person really make another do anything? I am willing to be the first to say, "Stop, you ignoramuses...", but what does that accomplish?

The best way to stop their practices is for people to stop showing up at their rallies, even to protest. If no one was there but them, they would stop parading around the country, I am certain.

Most KKK members are in hiding. It's incredibly difficult to know who is a KKK member and who isn't, everything is kept very secret.
