I know it sounds like I'm splitting hairs, but there can be a big difference between the two sometimes. Please state your line of reasoning also (supported by text preferrably.)

I was invited by someone to go to their kingdom hall. What kind of things do they talk about? Is there any singing or anything I should know? How long does it last? and most importantly, what do I wear? I don't go to church or anything so I don't have business like attire or anything.

ps. i'm a 17 if that matters.

This isn't antagonistic or anything.
I was wondering how your church is organized and led locally, regionally, and globally.

Thanks in advance

Aaronic Preist sounds like a pretty impressive title especially in light of how Aaron was described in the Bible , yet I see these kids in High School claiming the "Authority of the Aaronic Preisthood". I dont see anything so special about them that would deserve such a title.

Melchizedek Preist sounds like a pretty impressive title especially in light of how Melchizedek was described in the Bible , yet I see these kids on bikes barely out of High School claiming the "Authority of the Melchizedek Preisthood". I dont see anything so special about them that would deserve such a title.

I refuse to prove that I exist," says God, "for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing.

The phrase "past time is infinite" is false. This is proveable by the definitions of the words. "Infinite" means, according to dictionary.com, "unbounded or unlimited; boundless; endless," "endless" being the key definition. If something is endless, then it obviously does not have an end to reach; it is unreachable; it cannot be achieved. Now the definition of "past" is "of, having existed in, or having occurred during a time previous to the present." The key word in here is "occurred." Past time has occurred; it has been achieved. So, saying "Past time is infinite" is contradictory. It's the same as saying " The achieved is unachieveable." So, the opposite must be true: past time must be finite, there must be a beginning. And there also must have been something or Someone to start it; something outside of time. Time is that which measures change. So whatever started it must not change. God does not change, and He lives outside of time. Can you refute this?

In many of the questions that deal with evolution and creationism people respond by saying that evolution should not be accepted or taught in school because it is "just a theory, not a fact."

What about atomic theory? That's a theory, but nobody questions it or objects to it. Besides, the Bible never mentions atoms.

In short:
Why do people object to evolution on grounds that it's a theory, whereas nobody objects to atomic theory?

History teaches us that no other cause has brought more death than the word of god.

Jesus' last words on the cross, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" hardly seem like the words of a man who planned it that way. It doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to figure there is something wrong here.

When I used to think about the Rapture, I would be scared because I was afraid my dad wouldn't be saved. After he got saved, I wasn't as scared as I used to be and now I just want to know what other Christians think about it...

I asked a question earlier about my beliefs. I came to the realization that there is no name for a person who lacks belief in a Deity, superstition, and supernatural or magical powers. I pointed out that atheist isn't specific enough because although Buddhism is technically a religion, Buddhists do not believe in a Deity making them atheists. Most of the people responded in anger, claiming things like, "Why does every tiny bit of difference in belief have to have a name." I like very specific language. I like labels. I don't like vague language. I don't like there to be any questions or uncertainties when discussing anything. I like being as clear-cut, flat out, explicit, precise, distinct, and as categorical as possible. Why are labels so hated by so many people?????

I ask this because I have noted that certain religions believe that mankind is inherently bad, and requires atonement. This has always struck me as a strange notion: that a person can be invalidated simply by a lack of belief or agreement with a religion. The example of a person's life, in this way of thinking, is of no consequence, only their religious faith, or lack thereof. By the same token, such beliefs allow for the excusal of atrocious behaviour by the atoning power of cleansing religious belief; also a strange notion to me.

For myself, I believe that we are all pretty much on the same level as far as "goodness" goes. I think that each day we define ourselves by the actions we take, and that this the only account we have to reckon with. A person chooses their goodness through their actions, as it were.

What is your belief on this subject, and is your belief tied into your religious faith?
