Jesus In India Documentary

There is a sect of Islam called the Ahmediyya in Pakistan who believe Jesus went to India after the crucifixion - I think they take the standard muslim line that Jesus wasn't on the cross, or was substituted. This is based on the idea that God would not let a prophet of His die in the barbarous way depicted in the gospels. However that reasoning is faulty as many Old Testament prophets were persecuted and some put to death.

Christians don't of course believe the idea since they believe He was crucified, resurrected, and ascended to heaven in a period of week or slightly more. The core idea of the Christian faith is Jesus dying on the cross so we can receive forgiveness and God's blessings (paid for by Him, received via faith). So we don't believe He went to India and died there.

Jesus doesn't seem to have started His ministry until He was about 30, which has led some to speculate about what He was doing before then.

METICULOUS,
I am an Indian Christian, and know the Bible. The four books of the Bible called gospels - Matthew, Mark, Luke and John describe some parts of the life of Jesus, though they don’t end with His death: true, He died for you and me, and for the whole world. However, He rose again from the death because He was God’s son and is God. A lot of people wrote “eyewitness” accounts of the life of this remarkable person, some of which is included in the Bible. If you too read about Him in the Bible (you can get one free in India, just ask for the Gideon’s mission or contact me and I’ll pay for one for you without any commitment on your part to read it :-) you will find that the person described as Jesus cannot be any ordinary man: either He was and is God’s son, or something worse (though you will find that hard to believe). And either His message is entirely true, or completely false. It cannot be somewhat true or partially false. Therefore when you state that the “fictitious grave of Jesus in India” should be a place of pilgrimage, you forget that for every true Christian Jesus is just as alive as you are! Probably even more. Look for Him and you will find Him: unless, of course, you are afraid of the truth.
Peace,
Andrew

Ійѕтійст,
Can you prove it that Jesus as described in the Bible never existed? If you read what is written in the Bible about Jesus Christ, then the Bible is like a manual to learn to drive a car, and Jesus is the car. So if you read about the car, and learn to drive it in theory, that does not mean you have actually driven a car. For us Christians, the Bible shows us the way to God through Jesus, and however precious this book is for us, it is incomplete without us having a personal relationship with God through Jesus. Our Lord Jesus is alive to us, but He is more than that. He is the master of our lives, yet never intrudes; takes our troubles and problems, yet never complains, only provides comfort. He is in fact the closest and most faithful friend we can ever hope to have - yet He is God. I’ll put you to a small challenge: read the four books I have written about above, which are present in the second half of the Bible called the New Testament (you may get a copy of the Bible which only includes the New Testament, or you may get an individual book by itself). The ask Jesus to prove it to you that He exists. If you sincerely ask Him, rest assured, you are going to be exceedingly surprised.

Seminary bum,
Yes, the Apostle Thomas did make it to India, but that is south India. This fabricated lie about Jesus’ grave has originated in the extreme north of India, thousands of miles away (ours is a large country too :-)

David S,
I have read all about the other religions in India, and am not ignorant as you claim to be when I say do a life comparison of the three you have mentioned and there will be none that’ll come close to the personality of Jesus. Though you claim to have had some brushes with Christians, you unfortunately have never known Jesus. For Jesus himself said that He is the “only” way to God and salvation, there is no other. Moreover, you use the age old adage followed in India that all religions show the way to the same God (yet we have plenty of bloodshed in the name of religion to prove otherwise). Christianity does not require one to do works, only have true faith in Jesus. Despite this, you will find that true Christians are some of the most noble and good people (Jesus like) that you’ll ever meet, all showing you the way to God through Jesus. Perhaps this may be another chance for you...

Lastly to all those who have responded to, and are still answering this question: India has had some Arabic / Hebrew influence and culture. There are a lot of people in India (particularly Christians) even today, who go by the name of Jesus Christ (Yeshu Masih) included in their name or part of their name, in the native tongue, which is similar to the Aramaic pronunciation. So it could be anyone’s grave, even if it is one. Unfortunately, Indians are also know to be fraudulent and deceivers (our ranking as a nation full of corrupt individuals only highlights this lamentable condition) though we have some of the best people coming from India too. Thus it would not take much for such a false invention to be utilized by many scoundrels for popularity and some fast bucks. The less spoken for BBC correspondents the better, who now a days are less literate that the average Indian college student and when they came to the Church I belong to while making another documentary, gave a full demonstration of their lack of common sense and ignorance.

It's a myth. Jesus died once, didn't stay dead, and was exactly who the disciples said He was. How do I know? Because they died horrible deaths for announcing it!

Did you know Jesus is ALSO supposedly buried in Japan? And I believe He has a tomb in China, as well. And if I'm not mistaken, He has a couple spread throughout the Middle East. Strange how that works.

Jesus died in India is a bloody Myth

He didn't cure us from sin, he bought us forgiveness for it. Even though you may be cured of some diseases, you still suffer the symptoms until the disease is abated. He performed the miracles as a sign from God that he was the Christ, the Messiah, and even as he did these things in front of the people, many chose not to believe. There is no blindness, or sickness, or death in Heaven. Until Jesus returns, and establishes his reign on Earth, it is the devil's turf. There is where the afflictions come from.

Jesus died and then rose again in Jerusalem. He died to pay for my sins and your sins. All we have to do is ask His forgiveness, believe that He rose from the grave and is now with God the Father. Then we will try to follow his teachings about loving each other. Find a Bible in your language and study it. You will never regret it.

No, early Christianity began in Palestine and spread from there. I have heard stories of the apostle Thomas making it to India, however, I do not know for sure. Use skepticism with what you see on the internet, especially here. Check it out for yourself.

It is a very interesting documentary. I had never even heard of that theory. I don't doubt he probably did not die on the cross, but it would be hard to tell where he ended up after he escaped.

His tomb, in Jerusalem, is still a place of pilgrimage. However, it is not His "last" resting place, because He has risen from the dead.

I don't know where this business about India came from, but I wouldn't believe it.
