if Jesus is God, and father's son and he was able to make all these miracles... couldn't he just stop himself from feeling the pain during all the crucifixion??? I mean, someone with his power can just stop the pain and feel none!
Or is that all a play??
Or can't our sins be removed but that way??
I believe in his existance... but not the "final act"

We all know that the point of prayer is communication with God. We are supposed to talk to God. But I think that we miss the part of prayer where God talks to us. And He talks to us in so many ways. He speaks to us through people He sends to give us messages. He speaks to us through things that we experience. He speaks to us through His Word. He speaks to us sometimes through His voice, yes there are times that we hear an audible voice. What makes us miss these things? Do we get to busy? What other noices do you hear that makes it harder for you to hear the voice of the Lord? God Bless.

I am going to be a missionary and spread the gospel around the world and help people along the way. My ultimate prayer is for every person in this world to fall in love with Jesus and go to heaven. This is my life's mission. I love Jesus, I am thankful for His death for our sins so that we may be saved, and I agree with all of His teachings.
Since I've become a believer, I have NEVER felt so much hatred in all of my life. Jesus said this would happen, so it just confirms the truth. But I want to know why non-believers have such a problem with True believers? (and I'm not talking about people who are judgmental and hateful and call themselves Christians)
All signs point to Satan. What do you think?
(PS: I'm sure this will offend people... I just don't understand why)

If God created the heavens and the earth in Genesis 1:1. Why was the earth "formless and void" in the next verse? Did God create something that was not perfect? Or did God's creation of the heavens and the earth become imperfect? If that is the case, then there is no biblical support to establish that God created the heavens and the earth in seven days. Because it was already here. Satan and his angels were cast down to earth before man was created.

If you take the time to read Genesis 1 and 2, you will find that the order in which things were created in chap. 1 and "made" in chap. 2 are not the same order. In other words, what God did in seven days, was speaking order to what had became corrupted. Chap 2 explains how we as man are to operate in God's creation.

Long story short, don't take Chap. 1 literal, it's more symbolic of the method in which God operates. That symbolism being that God shows up in our lives in the midst of darkness. The Light removes all darkness. Agree?

I think that means that the church can not be allowed to make laws that say we must a certain type of church. I do not beleive that government officials can not be Christians. I think that the people in the power should be religous - any faith - but fearful of some God. I also beleive that the elected officials should bow to the will of the poeple who empowered them.
Best articulated and though answer wins. I will not base my decission on wether youagree with me or not - I promise.

I have seen lots of good questions contradicting Christianity, its teachings and the bible.

My question is - is Christinaity declining as Governments, local councils refuse to put up xmas trees in town centres. If it had been in the old days of Henry 8th, we would still be celebrating it everywhere in our land. But recent councils banning decorations etc seems to indicate that Christianity is on its way out. Do you think this is true?

Our new neighbours are Orthodox Jews and I was rather astonished to watch them banging in their mezuzah at five to midnight! Just wondering if there's a reason why they would choose this time to do it...? Is it significant? I'm Jewish but I'm not aware of any Jewish law about this. Your help much appreciated!

Theists, can you find or come up with a "proof" for your god that isn't on that list? I keep hearing theists use the same tired arguments over and over again. I don't think I've ever heard a theist argument that *wasn't* made hundreds of years ago (with Pascal possibly being the latest). 99 out of 100 times on here, theists arguments are derivative of either:

1. The cosmological argument
2. The ontological argument
3. The Teleological argument
4. "It's all faith" (not really an argument)
5. Pascal's Wager

See the first few items on the list in that link for those examples.

What kind of god punishes people by sending them to suffer for entirety just because they dont believe in him? It doesn't make sense to me. This god seems evil to me, not benevolent. Thinking as if i was god, i would by no means make people believe in me.
Why cant people see that the religion is scaring people to believe?

BTW: I'm and Atheist

Somebody just told me that on his way home from work today he passed a church with the following message on the sign

"Jesus is the bridge to Heaven that will not collapse."

True, yes, but appropriate?

Any suggestion to improve my 360 profile? I am spreading the Lord's Gospel.? Is my hairdo appealing to Muslim women?

I am Pastor Lydie Johanssen. Pastor and President of "Madonna's
for Christ" and "Stylish Christian Babes". Needs some feedback.
Jesus Loves You!!

About me: I made a commitment to Christ at fourteen years of age. At that time I felt the call of God on my life and at seventeen I married my sweetheart, Tom Hanson.
We had a 2 months old daughter from me and Hanson, and two one year old sons from a previous encounter and one while travelling to Uganda from a guy whom I was able to convert to the Lord's way. When we married, Hanson was a very spiritual young man and he thought someday he would become a preacher and me would be a preachers wife. But God had some other plan. So, today
I myself operate the ministry with my girlfriend Cindy. Hanson and I got divorced--but we still co-operate
and have maintained a close friendship.

What I mean is this... I was recently *strongly* criticized for not acting Muslim enough because I am not as modest as other Muslimahs (though I am in fact modest) and because I listen to select music and don't follow Hadith as strictly as others. Does this mean I am not truly Muslim, or I am not as good as other Muslims? I can extend this question to other faiths as well. Are Christians who cannot attend Sunday services due to conflicts such as work less Christian for this? Are Jewish men who wear a Yamaka more pious than those who don't? Who has the right to decide these things and do you feel the need to confront those you feel are not living up to your religious standards?

I know I have asked a lot here, but please share with me (honestly) how you feel.

By the way, I believe there is ONLY ONE who knows how much we believe and that is God, and no one else has the right to assume they know what is in our hearts.

Christianity is 2000 years old which originated from the middle east from a man who was born in Jerusalem (who AMAZINGLY as it stands today had blonde hair and blue eyes- although people in the middle east dont look like this). Christianity has been through different empires to the modern day. Emperor Constantine of the Byzantinium empire changed christianitys beliefs. Henry VIII of the UK changed its beliefs too. Darwins Theory of Evolution contradicts directly with the bible too. This is just a few people who come to mind in terms of changing the religion. Although i wasnt taught in school about Constantine, i was taught about Henry VIII who changed the beliefs to suit his own needs.
Now a religion which originated 2000 years ago, has become like a 'chinese whisper' game. Can you imagine what christians will be following in the future?
I was a christian in the past till i leanrt this and other things - now i am an Atheist.
But how do you justify this? (all anwers welcome)

Maybe Eve would be more than 4000 years old with a lot of wrinkles and Mankind would be so numerous, that we would be together back to back, or not?
Why Albert Einstein wrote the sentence: "I believe in 2 infinites, The One of the Universe and The One of the Mankind's stupidity"
Did he made this sentence when he thought about this question?

Would you trade intelligent design in classrooms for universal healthcare and food for the poor?

The conservative Christians would get pseudo-science. Everyone would get healthcare and food.

Hypothetically, would you take that deal?
