I've been to one of those!
Although we called it a "war protest."

They say a sin is a sin. Isn't that disgusting? They ignore how permanent murder is, somehow saying that homosexual love is equivalent to destroying someone else. At least they could still perform their senseless bashing on people still alive...
However, dze and a few others are correct. Murder as a lifestyle is not being proposed as homosexuality is, so they are naturally alarmed by it.
I think experience would teach them some things.
"They know not what they do."

The Catholic Church, and I am sure other denominations as well, have frequently held vigils and rallies with regard to unusually brutal or unsolved homicides,or an elevation of homicides in impoverished neighborhoods. Such vigils are almost invariably organized by clergy. I do not know of a single instance of such an event being organized by atheists. The idea is ridiculous. Yes,of course murder is "worse" than homosexuality, although I don't see how that purely rhetorical statement/question is connected to the first part of your bipartite "question".

Everyone objects to murder. Homosexuality creates a murder of a very subtle kind. Let me explain what I mean.
If a single person in any of your generations at any point in your ancestoral history was a practicing homosexual, all people born after that point would not exist.
If your grandfather was one, do a study and count all the people who would not be there.
Then you will begin to see the danger of homosexuality to millions of human beings. No one on any side supports murders (except in wars, everyone who is a right winger or a left winger seems to forget that war is literally murder).
But people do have rallies against wars.
If all men would become homosexual at any point, the entire population of the earth would vanish from that point forward.
I hope I am making sense to you.

I think many do every time the death penalty is about to be enforced. Oh, and when they protest abortion, they call that "murder" too.
Personally I'm not too fond of the death penalty. Unless we're absolutely 100% certain the person is guilty (not just guilty "beyond reasonable doubt" which isn't always a strict standard) then I don't think the permanence of death is appropriate given the unreliable nature of "reasonable doubt".

yes it is worse.
Also, since the fundamentalists seem to try to base their prejudice on the bible, why don't they have anti-fat rallies? Overeating is condemned in the bible: could it be cuz so many of them are HUGE?
Why don't they have pro-slavery rallies? The bible supports slavery. Why don't they have "stone the adulteresses" rallies? The bible says we should stone any women to death who gets caught playing around on her husband.
The truth: fundamentalis pick and choose what they want from the bible. They hate gay people because we're an easy target and because they're afraid of their own genitals, they hate seeing people having fun with theirs.
PS Most Christians I know wouldn't go to an anti-gay rally for a million dollars. They're smarter and kinder in general than fundamentalists.

Good Point. I don't know what Christianity as a whole thinks, but I would be in agreement that Murder is up there in the top 10 of all time worst sins...OH, THAT's right, it is!
Ok fine, give me thumbs down, maybe all sin is equal in God's eyes, until everyone can come to a consensus that being gay is a sin - and not everyone agrees to that, but I do think most of us agree that murder is a sin - TO ME MURDER IS WORSE. Maybe it's all equal to God, but not to me.

Of course it isn't.
Haven't you noticed most violence is pretty easy to get past the censors ... but sex?
USian Kultcha has a real hang-up with sex and if it's a bit different from the norm even though it's consenting adults ... wow; can't handle that.
