Evolution started it all way before this world was thought of, and because of it we will all one day be creators our self. Life is education. After each life we go home to prepare for the next lesson (life). We are working at building our true selves. Chipping away at building perfection in our self bit by bit. Our goal is to be a creator like our own creator in total understanding of all things and in pure love and goodness. (In order to do this we have to experience all things as our own creator did) It gets a little deeper than that as to where the very first creator came from, to make it simple everything is one big cycle and energy never ends just grows.(there is a little more to it than that, not much but here and now isn't the time)

Our creator is pure love and could never even think of killing its off spring....we have as much time as we need to build our true selves....it's up to us how long it takes.

What is truly bizarre is thinking you can do it all in one life...and if you don't do it right god will burn you..or that this was all just a fluke. There is so much to know and understand and experience.(note the many different levels of intelligence on this planet).

Did it happen exactly as it says in the bible?

Is it all just a pretty fairy tale?

Was it something similar to what's happened in England recently - immense localised flooding - which seemed to the people at the time that it was "world wide" and put down to God's wrath (people in secularised england today have been saying it was god's work - why not 3000 -odd years ago)?

If it is all just a fairy tale, does it still have some basis in reality - like the thai nursery rhymes that children would learn that told them to run to the hills when the seas receded (because a tsunami would be coming)?

Is it something else entirely?

If god, Jesus, Mary are so important, Why is it that you can buy their figurenes and pictures in the cheapest shops imaginable? Like THE REJECT SHOP, THE WARHOUSE, and the best one is OP SHOPS. They can't be that gracious if you can pay up to $5.00 for them. How cheap are they?

it seems by some posts here that some christians decide to take it upon themselves to dictate who is a real christian and who is not, based on comparison of their own prerequisites.
is this a cop out?
these people might aswell admit that they themselves are the 'only' real christian.
is this a result of when self validation goes to far?
or fear?

as you all know, islam is facing a problem in the world but especially in the middle east.. i like to call that problem "CULTURE",,, how do we get rid of some of the culture, which is not accepted by islamic law... in other words, how do we integrate our different cultures in islam where we modify THE CULTURE to fit islam not try to integrate islam into culture by modifying islam... as people do now

this question is very open ended and the answer is not simple, let alone the application of the perfect solution

muslims have to embrace islam as their culture, as their way of life, just like the first tribes of arabia that entered islam... they left behind their grudges and their habits (ie. killing new born girls). islam became the new way of life. what i see is a reverse shift now. people's culture is becoming more important that islamic culture.

what i am saying is that culture should be an additive to islam and it should not conflict it's laws?
THOUGHTS/ POSSIBLE SOLUTIONs?

I know its none of our businesses but I don't understand, If your old, then your just old...Its apart of life but i know that you don't want to feel old. Ive noticed that the young women aren't ashamed to tell their age but older or should i say "Mature" women don't tell.

My Grandma kinda got upset at me when i was in 2nd grade because i told one of her friends she was 54.

As technology is advancing as much as it is, everyone will soon be able to do the 'miracles' that Jesus is reported to have done.

Is it not a fair question to ask then, whether Jesus could have been a traveller from the future, who went (or will go) back into the first century on many occasions to try to spread peace and love in order to avert some sort of major incident in his own time. Like perhaps World War 3 for example?

It's an interesting thought.....

When exactly was the "faithful and descret slave" established in your religion? Was it at the very beginning of it or sometime after the start of this religion? What did Christians do prior to this "faithful and descret slave class" come about to your religion.?..1000's of years have went by before your religion came about and started these beliefs of Pastor Russels..I believe is his name..So were all the teaching's prior to this religion for 1000's of years wrong?..Wouldn't God have give the world the Faithful and descret slave class a long time ago if this was the mouth peice of God?

Someone earlier posted a question blaming atheism for the deaths caused by the worst tyrants of the 20th century.

Mugabe was one of those listed..........and he is certainly not an atheist.

Pol Pot was another. While he was an atheist, it was the carpet bombing of Cambodia by "christian" America that led to his rise to power.

Idi Amin was a Muslim

Hitler was a christian.

While Stalin and Mao were responible for a massive amount of death, in broader historical terms, the religious seem to be responsible for much more death and suffering.

It must be remembered that the communist in Russia and China only came to power because of ruthless and brutal rulers that preceded them.

The Tsars in Russia and the Nationalist government in China weren't exactly known for kindness.

Could it not be that with people such as Hitler, Amin, Stalin & Mao, the tyrany has nothing to do with religion or lack thereof, but that it is all about a lust for power?

My philosophy of life has always been to hate the sin but love the sinner. Many of my friends and family members have made lifestyle choices that are in conflict with my Christian values and beliefs. Does my association with them compromise my Christian witness? Should I be talking to them about Christianity or dare to mention sin or what it means to follow Jesus?
I am a mature adult and have worried about this for years. I'm by no means perfect but I do have good, loving relationships with my family members including siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, in-laws and ex in-laws. I try to be kind and friendly to all my co-workers, neighbors and acquaintences .... no matter their lifestyle.

I would like to hear your answers, Christians or not. "Does my friendship condone lifestyle choices?"

Or are you more than a "name brand" in today's society?

We are to be in the world, yet not of the world...

Do you allow today's "world" do define your relationship with Your God with something as simple as a religion..."Christianity"...

Or do you in fact understand the fullness of your faith?

If you do just accept society's outlook on "Christianity", why?

Is it just a religion to you or is it much more than that?

Honestly... Do you settle for being JUST a "Christian?", a label?

I appreciate your honest, sincere answers. God Bless You. Shalom.

If Atheists are so convinced that there is just science out there why do they even come into the section? Maybe, they are not so convinced after all. I think subconciously they are looking for deeper answers about existence or they probably wouldn't waste their time coming here. The sarcasm/hostility I see some Atheists write makes me think they may not be so satisfied with their own views or life at all. Makes me glad to be a Christian, feels wonderful!

Okay, this is a serious question.

The Bible says in the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth.
But it does not say anything about creating the Universe, unless that is what the Heavens refers to. Also, the Bible does not mention anything about other planets.
We know there are tons and tons of other planets in other galaxies that we don't even know about, and the odds of life being on those other planets is very possible.

Since people when the Bible was written years ago didn't really know about all the other planets and the Universe, is that why it was never mentioned in the Bible?

Are the other planets mentioned and I just missed it while reading the Bible??
Also, if in the beginning, if creating the heavens actually refers to the universe, and if you die and go to heaven, does that just mean you're spirit is just floating around in the universe??

Serious answers please!!!!!
Thanks in advance...

When Madonna used a black man JESUS, in the song Like a Prayer video clip?
and when the crosses where all on fire?
Did any of you find what Madonna did in anything she had done in the 80's offensive?

Think about it,
religion is the one thing that starts
the most controversy and trouble.

Woman becoming less due to Eve eating the Apple.
The whole thing with Israel and all the suicide bombing.

Any input?

I AM the Lord thy God, thou shalt have no other gods before me. (That would include ungodly spirits, idols, self, etc...)

Thou shalt not make images & bow down before them, worshipping them. For my Name is Mighty Jealous regarding idolatry. Visiting the iniquities onto the 3rd & 4th generations of those who hate me. Giving blessings unto the 1000s generations to those who love me.

Thou shall not use my Name in vain, for I won't hold them guiltless. (Guilty of hating God).

Im a Non-Bashing Christian and i noticed on Yahoo Answers that some Christians, Atheists, Muslims, Mormons etc don't bash at all but are here to have a mature conversation. When a question is asked by someone who doesn't bash, that person gets alot of negative feed back, this is caused by the ones who bash and includes everyone of any belief.

There are way too many assumptions because of the mistake of these bashing people:

Ex. All Christian force their belief
All Athiests are immature
All Muslims believe in Killing for their belief

These are all assumptions placed on everyone and it needs to stop. I don't believe that all Atheists are mean and immature, I know their are some really cool ones who share why they don't believe in God in a mature way. They respect our belief

It only took a few people from each belief for assumptions to rise and be put on everyone.

Do you agree?
