I AM the Lord thy God, thou shalt have no other gods before me. (That would include ungodly spirits, idols, self, etc...)

Thou shalt not make images & bow down before them, worshipping them. For my Name is Mighty Jealous regarding idolatry. Visiting the iniquities onto the 3rd & 4th generations of those who hate me. Giving blessings unto the 1000s generations to those who love me.

Thou shall not use my Name in vain, for I won't hold them guiltless. (Guilty of hating God).

Not to forget... I AM the Lord thy God who brought you (Israel) out of bondage... Jesus Christ is our (Christians) Lord & Savior who brought us out of sin bondage.

When Jesus said that the most important commandment is to Love the Lord thy God with all your heart, mind, soul & strength.

I AM LORD God = HYH YHVH ELHYM.

OK remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. To the Christian, Christ fulfilled the Sabbath. So? The Sabbath would be to abide in Christ (Rest in Christ) 24/7. Since we are restored by being born of the Spirit whole.

gratvol. I don't worship Jesus over God. To me God is Father, Word/Son & Holy Spirit. I worship God. These 3 are 1. 1Jn5.

I pray to My Father God in the Name of His Son, Jesus Christ my Lord & Savior. And if you think this is idolatry, You just don't understand the Name of God & who God Is. Jesus is our intermediary to God, since He, in His humanity, gave His life for us. He atoned for our sins (Isaiah 53).

Kit Kat, The LORD God actually said this personally to Israel. It scared them too much & they told Moses to go up the mountain to hear God for them. This is one reason God speaks to the Prophet who speaks to the people. God speaks to the Prophet in dreams, visions, etc...

So the reason people forget these 1st comandments (add the 4th please) is because they accuse others (Like me).

The 4th is to rest on the Sabbath to keep it holy. For God created for 6 days & the 7th day God rested. (Remember God our Creator)

Hogie, Jesus didn't come to do away with the law, but to fulfill the law & the prophecies. Jesus said that to fulfill the law, Love the LORD thy God with all your heart, mind & soul. Love others as yourself.
To me the LORD God is God the Father, Word/Son & Holy Spirit. The fulness of Yahweh Elohim; Elohim is plural of El, Allah, etc. Yahweh is singular. These 3 are 1.

In order not to forget it, you can summarize it into two:

1. Love God above all. (1-4) as you mentioned above
2. Love other people as you rationally love yourself. (5-10)
simply means you'll respect them, not kill them or steal from them or not commit indecency and immorality.

Most so-called Christians, really don't have a clue! In our society it is sheik to say "I'm a Christian" And never go any farther in that it is in name only. They cannot remember what they don't know! Our Churches don't teach and our preachers don't preach, So-called Christians are lazy, and care nothing for God or Jesus or the Holy Ghost.
Most of the Churches are nothing more than social clubs, looking for new members, and not looking to do the will of God!

YOU are forgetting part of the point of the first, by combining the first two! yourself are doing the thing you say not to!

the first is simply "I am the lord thy god..." its simply a self-identification.

the second is to have no others(such as jesus) before. and the third is to have no idols. (such as jesus).

Jesus as many people belive him, is an idol.
and the trinity is polytheism PERIOD.

nothin gin the old testament gave any actual idea of the law being "fulfilled" or done away with like so many christians think jesus did. that is an ungodly teaching.

edit: yes, its likely you may use a mis-numbered version, deliberately miscommunicated as to obfuscate the point.
Exodus 20:2 "I am HaShem thy G-d, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage."
Exodus 20:3 "Thou shalt have no other gods before Me."
Exodus 20:4 " Thou shalt not make unto thee a graven image, nor any manner of likeness, of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;" (this includes jesus)

God Identifies himself. says to have no other, then decrees against statues and images.

belief in Jesus as God, or an intermeidary, or belief in the trinity is explicitly contradictory to these commandments.

Men wrote the bible and the commandments because of what THEY believed. They had no knowledge of all the other cultures and belief systems from all over the world which existed way before the bible was ever written.

What makes one set of "rules" and beliefs more valid then another?

The law was nailed to the cross. Christians are not under the old testament law. Anyone who teaches otherwise is very, very wrong. Read Romans. The law is for the lawless(non Christians)

The Lord of Abraham has no son and is not a part of a Trinity.

Sorry, you are mistaking him for the Sun God Mithra.......

Greek bible = Greek God.

Rule number one when understanding Scripture: Who is speaking, and who is being spoken to?

God is speaking, and He is speaking to ancient Israel, period.

He is not speaking to Christians, and Christians were never a party to this covenant law.

Or are you prepared to claim Christians who have the very Spirit of God in them are going to be tempted to, or are, going to reject God in them and embrace false gods?

This law was tailored to carnal Israel, and not converted Christians.

Because the bible is a work of fiction not a meaningful anything. It tries to make quotes for a being that never existed and tells you to live by them.

It also says you shall have no other Gods before him.

So why do you worship Jesus over God?
