Im a Non-Bashing Christian and i noticed on Yahoo Answers that some Christians, Atheists, Muslims, Mormons etc don't bash at all but are here to have a mature conversation. When a question is asked by someone who doesn't bash, that person gets alot of negative feed back, this is caused by the ones who bash and includes everyone of any belief.

There are way too many assumptions because of the mistake of these bashing people:

Ex. All Christian force their belief
All Athiests are immature
All Muslims believe in Killing for their belief

These are all assumptions placed on everyone and it needs to stop. I don't believe that all Atheists are mean and immature, I know their are some really cool ones who share why they don't believe in God in a mature way. They respect our belief

It only took a few people from each belief for assumptions to rise and be put on everyone.

Do you agree?

It only takes a few bad apples to ruin it for the bunch, doesn't it? Sometimes I slip and act like a real jerk, but it's hard when someone else starts the cycle. The world needs more nice people in it, regardless of faith or lack thereof.

I may not agree with you when it comes to faith (I'm an atheist--I hope I'm one of the nice ones most of the time) but I fully respect your right to have it and it appears you respect my right not to have it. So it all works out.

A little bashing can be positive and constructive if used with that intent.Jesus bashed the money changers in the temple, physically and verbally. However the majority of people that go into those chatrooms are there for only one reason. To agitate and antagonize. If you find someone there who wants to have a constructive conversation then by all means have your conversation.Just ignore the idiots. You don't have to read everyone's comments and you certainly don't have to respond.

LOL @ the first guy. Really man, people are going to be the way they are. Besides, it's true that the majority of Christians DO push their beliefs on others, (isn't that the purpose of knocking on doors "soulwinning"?) and most Muslims DO kill for their religion. So maybe the people aren't bashing as much as they are just pointing out the reality. That said, I do think people could explain their views in a less smart-alecky way sometimes, but hey that's life. And a lot of the answers are pretty amusing.

Yahoo Answers ain't a forum. It's a QA setting. If Christians, or anyone else, wants intelligent discourse, there are thousands of forums to provide it.

Or a person can create a Yahoo group for people of like mind.

Christians, atheists,Muslims, Jews, and science freaks are drawn to Yahoo Answers for reasons other than simple QA, or civil discourse.

Mostly, the evidence points to all the people in these groups drawn here to argue, to defame, to busybody, to deflate the spiritual beliefs of others, to condemn others to hell, to the extent they're able,

And to indulge in holier than thou chest pounding.

Otherwise, they're probably just here for a few laughs.

The bashers are living in pain, they want to share it with the rest of the world.

Spread the pain.

My response to those who bash others is to pray that they will come to know peace and joy in their lives through a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. In my opinion they are generally unhappy and, as misery loves company, wish to make others unhappy. Once they know the joy of a life in Christ, they will wish to spread that joy.

I agree. I believe that each of us gets "tired" of the behaviors of others and even ourselves once in a while.... but we need to take a break and re-charge.
