Yes, and because they are simple minded. It takes a simple mind to follow religion unquestioningly. Those that are racist exhibit extreme slowness of thought.

Yes he does as long as they both are followers. There is the verse, "Do not be unnequally yoked..." meaning do not marry someone with significantly different beliefs than you.
Also, to say that so many Christians are racist is an unfair insinuation. Certain Christian indidviduals may be racist, but so are others of different religions.
edit--
Plus, half of the other answers bash christianity, which in a way is like racism. Maybe thats too rash of a statement, but racism is treating a whole group of people in a certain negative way, and Ive seen answers that so generally accuse "Christians" as a whole to be asinine and unintelligent idiots for even following what they don't see. Just as there are smart and dumb people in other cultures and religions, the same goes for Christianity.

I do not see why God would care one way or another if people of different races married. God just wants people to love one another, I do not believe that he put conditions on it.
People throughout time have used religion as a way to get their own views across. By perverting the law of God people can more easily get certain segments of the population to follow things are definitely against God's law. It is a means to an end.
Here are some groups that have used religion to promote racism.
Nation of Islam
Ku Klux Klan
Nazis
World Church of the Creator
Islam in general
I am sure there are more, but these are just off the top of my head.

Yes. Remember, we were all alike at one time. God became so annoyed at the fighting and behaviour of his people, he seperated us, made us different from each other (race) and made us to speak different languages.
I think God would be pleased to see at least 2 of his people coming together as one. We should all be doing it. Why people are so racist I don't know. I never judge by skin colour or anything but what is inside a person's heart. That's where we all should be looking.
As for the racists' there will be a day of judgement and I wonder if they haven't changed their ways, if they'll get into heaven.
Remember it's not just whites against blacks - white people are discriminated against as well, as are all races.

I can't find any reference in my Bible against marrying outside of your race. What is a race anyway? A little bit more melanin here, a little less over there...A gene to make a nose or an eye a bit different....I personally like that I have added a little diversity to my son's genetic heritage. Being racist is completely opposite of what Christ teaches. It is unfortunate that many Christians do not grow and develop their relationship with Him. At my church we have blacks, whites, Filipinos, Latinos, Polish, Lithuanian, and maybe some more (I don't go around polling race) in our congregation of 75. It is wonderful. All churches/Christians should be more open and loving of other races.
But on the other hand being a school teacher I find a great deal of racism amongst all students regardless of their belief or disbelief in Christ.

This is one of the biggest points of contention I would have with some of the "old-timers" who say that the Bible speaks against inter-racial marriage. I can't find anywhere in the Bible where God spoke against it. The closest example is in the OT when God tells the Jews not to marry pagans. However, that had nothing to do with race. He warned against it so that they would not have pagan practices in their home, and their children taught by pagan parents.
In fact, you can find where God chastised Aaron and Miriam for being critical of Moses about his Ethiopian wife.
Why are some followers racist? People will try to twist the Bible to support their view of anything. It's been like that forever, and I suppose it always will.

For the same reason that any other demographic is racist. All of us are human and therefore fallible. "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." Roman's 3:23 Why is that only Christians are called out for their failures? I know bigoted atheists. Would it not be a better question to just ask; why are people racist?

Of course He approves! God doesn't see race like that. After all he made all the different kinds of people.God does say though that you should not marry an unbeliever.
The reason so many of His followers are racist is because not everyone who claims to be a christian is one.

Do the scriptures condemn and/or mention the subject of two people marrying that are of different skin colors?
There is mention of one interracial marriage that was heavily criticized by someone’s own brother and sister. Num 12:1 “Miriam and Aaron began to talk against Moses because of his Cushite wife, for he had married a Cushite.” NIV
Cushites came from the land of Cush, or better known nowadays as Ethiopia. We have here a prime example of Biblical interracial marriage.
the Bible mentions the account of Moses (medium dark) and his wife (who was quite dark) in Numbers 12. Moses' brother and sister were trashing Moses for marrying a Cushite. God cursed Moses' sister by causing HER skin to be white with leprosy. This was God's way of spitting in her face. This is how mad God gets at those who believe one skin color is better than another! God made them all, red, yellow black and white, they are precious in his sight!

Yes God approves all legitimate marriages, to Him there's no black or white or red, after all all blood is red, and not all followers are racist, thankfully.

God approves of interracial marriages, but He does not approve of marriages between a believer in Him and a non-believer.
KAMUA KANBON, sure they were. Can you show me where it says that?
